Gregg Gutfeld Says He Plans to Open Gay Bar Next to Mosque

So you have no evidence. Despite him saying he was serious and his producer saying he was serious. Got it.

I have plenty of evidence. I have the evidence of having watched Red Eye for years, and I understand that Greg Gutfeld is, in fact, a comedian. I also have the evidence that despite his assurances that he is serious, he has taken no affirmative steps in this "plan" aside from making a list of puns. Wake up, man, it's a comedy bit.

Let me guess, you think Stephen Colbert is really a Republican, too?

THEN EXPLAIN YOUR QUOTE. I quoted you DIRECTLY. Show me ONE DIRECT QUOTE I posted that you did not say. Stop lying Catz. Those words are your own.

I provided the response downstairs. That will be my last response to your behavior on this thread.

It's not a violation of the establishment clause. Why don't you tell us what the Establishment clause actually is? It prohibits the government from giving preferential treatment to - gasp - ONE RELIGION OVER ANOTHER or establishing a national religion.

Please pick up a history book? There are already a bunch of states which do not allow the creation of bars near churches, schools, hospitals etc. Here's an example from - you guess it - New York :

When you can tell us what the establishment clause actually means and what it has to do with whatever nonsense it is you're talking about then you're welcome to come back. Till then? K Thanx Bai.

The establishment clause prohibits giving preferential treatment to ANY religion, you can't deny someone the right to build something based on somebody else's religious beliefs. The code that you cited is complete bull**** and any owner effected by it should sue all the way to the supreme court for a clear violation of their 1st amendment rights.

Gregg Gutfeld, host of the FOX News show "Red Eye," announced on his show Monday that he would be opening up a gay bar for Islamic men right next door to the highly controversial mosque being built near Ground Zero.

Gutfeld also posted his plans on his blog, The Daily Gut , "I'm announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space. This is not a joke. I've already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance."

Gregg Gutfeld Says He Plans to Open Gay Bar Next to Mosque

Its a free country right? :lamo

I have no problem with the mosque or the gay bar being built near ground zero. I think it's retarded to throw all muslims in the same boat as the terrorist who flew planes into the buildings. If the catholic church wanted to build a church across the street from a elementary schools, preschools or a day care would anyone give a ****? Would anyone being trying to block the church from being built just because a tiny handful of catholic priest molested some kids?

Perhaps a dog kennel on the other side? Maybe the barking would drown out the calls to prayer.

How about a sheep farm for the desert sheppards?

Funny you mention this, because I was thinking the other day, you know we should all go down to Texas and build a few gay bars around some catholic churches. Like peanut butter and jelly wouldn't ya say?

Add to that: hospitals, old folks homes, day cares etc.

His strawman is that when people argued that these people had every right to build a mosque near 9/11, it was an argument based on the U.S. being a 'free country'. The real argument was that these people had not committed a single crime in obtaining the rights and permits to build a land and prohibiting them from building a mosque through legislation or the feelings of the public would violate their first amendment rights.

That's fine.

A gay bar is not a "strip club".

No reason Gutfeld's plan shouldn't go through. I'm guessing it could be a financial success, too.

A law prohibiting a man's free exercise of business in a zone near a church is giving unconstitutional preferential treatment towards one man's religion over another's.

Clearly unconstitutional.

Oh, wait, are you going to argue that the exclusionary law is there to show respect for someone's feelings?

That works well, given that the argument at hand is the disdain certain terrorists show towards the feelings of their victims' families in New York.

Still Cherry picking I see. Still not going to acknolwedge you put quotes in a response to me I never said?

If the goal as they claim is to bring understanding and tolerance, why will they not move a Mosque that is so clearly viewed as completely insensative?

And the Imam. You have heard his quotes right? Not exactly a beacon of tolerance and understanding is he? And where is the money coming from? Don't you think thats a valid question considering his statements?

Something to think about:

History-minded readers will note that the final “hypothetical” in this list is not actually hypothetical at all: there actually was an effort to establish a Catholic convent outside of the Auschwitz death camp from the late 1980s through the early 1990s. The parallels between this episode and that of the “Ground Zero mosque” are striking — and the differences are instructive. Roman Catholics per se were not the perpetrators of the Holocaust — to put it mildly, if you truly understand the history of Nazism and the Catholic Church — whereas Muslims acting in purported glorification of their faith were the perpetrators of 9/11; yet the late Pope John Paul II, in 1993, ordered the Auschwitz convent closed not because he felt Catholics were culpable for the Holocaust, but out of sensitivity to Jewish concerns. He understood that for Jews, this ground had been consecrated by the suffering of the victims of Auschwitz and rightly should be sacred to them and to their faith. This precedent was noted by ADL national director Abraham Foxman just last week, and indeed the ADL was involved in the controversy when it was current.

Gay Islamic bar, doubt he would see much business...lol

Catholicism doesn't call for the death penalty and/or corporal punishment for homosexuality.

I don't see why not. After all, the Catholics, too, demand a certain level of toleration. Being an American should mean both expecting and EXTENDING tolerance.

pretty dumb business man. doesn't he know there ARE no islamic gay men?

Actually...I think achmadinawhackjob was misquoted...what he MEANT was there WONT be any...once they have all been identified. By the religion of peace. Im sure that like Che's work camps designed to either convert or kill gay men, the muslims have some other for of 'treatment' for homosexuality.

That's exactly what he meant. As soon as they find them, Iran's gays are all former gays. Because, of course, they're dead.

Yes not anymore, and since we don't have access to a time machine, not any more is kind of what's important for those living today.

Well, from the perspective of throwing stones, Christianity's history isn't any more enlightened than that of Islam's. Pardon my pun.

BTW...for what its worth 'I' think you are a centrist...a left leaning one...but a centrist. I think Im your evil twin...a right leaning centrist.

Awww! Hugs!

If you see my posts on the immigration and death penalty threads, though, all doubt of my rightness will be removed.

I have. And ironically, Im OPPOSED to the death penalty...FOR health care reform (but run at the state level) and am far mor active as an advocate for the lpoor than most far leaning lefties...but because I dont embrace the ideal that the 'real' way to help them is to keep them crippled...then Im an evil capitalist. (and I AM a captialist)

I'm a capitalist, too. I just believe that capitalism has to be regulated. And, I don't believe in socialism, but I did post a thread about happiness, wondering if how we do things is working for us. I'm not saying that we should change it, I'm just saying that I'm not sure that the dogma about the free market is entirely accurate.

I'm pro-death penalty, and anti-welfare. If we are going to continue to provide AFDC, we need to require parents to attend money management classes, parenting classes, cooking classes, and to volunteer at their child's school. We should not be writing blank checks to people. We should be making an investment in improving our society, and the lives of children.

I also don't think we can fix inner city schools by throwing money at the problem, we need to hold teachers to higher standards, continue to test (but watch out for schools that game the test), and require schools to use proven teaching methodologies (i.e., direct instruction + phonics versus whole language).

OK...I retract the centrist thing...because you dare to disagree with me...
