Gregg Gutfeld Says He Plans to Open Gay Bar Next to Mosque

Actually its perfect. You as always do not want to admit the same moral argument is being used for both. Only one gets preferential treatment from people like you.

What are you talking about? Churches routinely receive preferential zoning in communities around the U.S. because they are viewed in a uniformly positive light. Strip clubs, thanks to our puritanical origins, are viewed as negative influences.

Your posts are currently attaining unforeseen levels of stupidity.

I know its hard for you to stop and actually think about what you are posting but try again. You are admitting their are moral restrictions limiting what can be put around religious structures but no moral objections can be weighed to where this mosque was built citing free speech. Are you so blind you can't see the massive hypocrisy in your position?

Answer this basic questions. I'll keep them simple for you.

Is the zoning where they want to build legal? Yes or No?

Are they allowed to open a business? Yes or No?

Dont make me break out the crayons again.

That's because the mosque itself is a religious structure, and religious structures are given preferential treatment in zoning. The key issue here is not whether the mosque is treated in the same way that a strip club would be, but that the mosque is treated the same way that any other religious building would be treated. And, it was. The zoning standards for strip clubs and churches are completely different.

I can't believe your arrogance when you clearly don't even understand the simple concept of zoning laws/ordinances.

Considering that Greg Gutfeld is a comedian, I'd say that this isn't a serious attempt at all. Of course, if he is serious he certainly has a right to do so, but it seems like it would be a poor investment. It's probably just a lame excuse to make jokes that are both homophobic and anti-Islamic at the same time, very poor taste.

Whats poor taste about it?

I think the act of building a gay bar for Islamic men is spiteful. Bit if the city permits it then I believe they have a right to build there. As others have said, there are zoning issues. However things vary by region. My old church building was right across the street from 3 liquor stores (not bars though). Typically cities have streets for night life venues, whether they be bars, strip clubs, dance clubs, and adult entertainment. You can't just plop a shop like that anywhere. Plus, if the area around the Mosque is zoned residential I doubt they can open the bar.

The mosque is in poor taste. So what?

I obviously understand them far better than you do.

Stop running from my questions Catz. Answer them.

It's not any more offensive than the mosque itself. And, living in America means that you often have a right to be offensive. Freedom is tough.

p.s. Why would anyone be offended by a gay bar??? They play good music and the guys actually dance.

I think that everyone is clear that this is not the case, and that I've answered your questions with far more patience and courtesy than is warranted by the intense conglomeration of stupid in your posts.

Not according to you. You would deny them the right to build their business. Your hypocrisy is shining through Catz.

Still waiting for you to answer those questions...

huh?

The mosque can stay, I can call them assholes. That's my position!

No you haven't. They are simple yes and no questions and as usual you are running away because your argument's hypocracy has been laughably exposed once again.

Answer them.

So, the mosque is in poor taste. Does that justify the hypocrisy of placing a gay bar next to it solely for the purpose of spite? It makes you just as bad as them.

It also might make you rich. :prof

Well thats just it, the mosque isn't in poor taste at all. It doesn't warrant such a mean-spirited reaction as this comedy routine from Gutfeld, which is really just a series of vulgar slurs, in very poor taste. I'm a fan of red-eye, and I think Greg Gutfeld is better than this, but he's a right-wing comedian so it seems to me he's pandering to the bigoted reactionary response to the mosque.

The zoning is legal for a religious building, but may not be legal for a strip club, since strip clubs are usually not allowed in residential areas.

Are they allowed to open a business? Yes or No?

I don't make zoning decisions in Manhattan, so I don't have the information necessary to answer this question.

Has Mr. Gutfield applied for a business license and building permit? The responses he receives would likely answer your questions.

What if your purpose was primarily humor-related? Would that still piss you off just as much?

What if the reason was to promote tolerance and diversity? Isn't that a good thing?

As one who lost friends and family on 911 I can tell you a little better than you from wherever you are from not in NYC, that it is in poor taste. you can screech bigotry all you want.

How offensive something is primarily resides in the eye of the beholder. I find the mosque offensive. Who are you to tell me that I'm not allowed to find it offensive?

Whats hypocritical about placing a revenue generating business nearby?

Yes it is in poor taste, just like building a mosque of conquest is in poor taste near ground zero.
Gutfeld is a funny man and I really don't think he is serious about it. His idea was to have a non-alchoholic bar, with 72 virgin drinks and caters to gay Muslims. Seeing as how the Quran only premits sex my a man and woman who are married ,I doubt many gay muslims would frequent there due to it's location.

You are assuming that is his goal. He said his goal is to promote tolerance. How is that any different from the people who don't believe the Imam's true intentions of opening the Mosque where it is?
