So you are equating trips to Crawford to his ranch, which BTW had a situation room, and working office, to Michelle's opulent, and garish display of complete insensitivity with a tax payer funded trip to the Mediterranean coast? Really?

The two are complete, and utter opposites!

Come on now - we have to give pbrauer a little slack here. Let's look at this holistically: She's invited to Spain for a very solemn reason - to comfort a dear dear friend because of her fathers death, and then goes to the beach, goes sightseeing, shopping, meets the King of Spain and has a grand old time for 5 days. Can't you see Michelle was all broken up about this and now that she's home, needs a break from Spain to reflect and contemplate life and it's complexities?

Hint: Michele is not the president, she does not need a situation room or working office.

Which brings us to the key difference. You are making a big deal about a non official going on a vacation. Bush was an actual elected official who went on frequent vacations. This whole thing is retarded in the extreme. What it really is is a bunch of anti-Obama whiners(as opposed to those who oppose him on actual thought out grounds) who are patting themselves on the back about how they revealed this horrid act, while the rest o fthe world sits back and laughs that any one even cares.

1. This behavior during economic duress wouldn't be bad, except it's what vacation in the last 8 weeks... and where?
2. You are comparing Bush 43 vs. Michelle Obama?
3. If you are, please remember, The Ranch or Camp David is not Spain.
4. I don't recall Laura Bush being a vacationholic. But each First Lady makes their own mark their own way.
5. Obama claimed stellar/superior judgment vs. Bush. This was another opportunity to prove it's another Obama myth.

I am somewhat dissapointed by this, I will admit.

I think if he was gonna campaign as the peoples champion, which he did. Him and his family should live that way in office.

I think at this moment in time, it does not look good at all. When I saw it I was kinda like :doh

But all in all. Whatevs. We got bigger fish to fry... anyone for Gulf Coast Shrimp?
 
People keep comparing Bush and Michelle taking vacations while not understanding one HUGE difference: one is the President who is the leader of America and one is the wife of the President!

I beg to differ actually... the first lady has an office in the White House and THIS particular first lady has 24 staff members supporting her, and a budget of over $2.0 million dollars, of which just the 15 staffers identified with the title "First Lady" in it take up. Not sure how much more the other 9 support staff earn. So, maybe you should tell Michelle she doesn't need a situation room or working office. She has enough staff to start her own Presidency.

This is why no one takes the nut job right serious. She does have duties as first lady, but she has no need of a situation room, period, nor any need of a working office while on vacation. You have to try and spin some simple statement into some big conspiracy. You work in nothing but exaggeration and misdirection.

Sorry Rev. This was misreported. She was only will about 4 friends. Mrs. Nesbitt ( long time Chicago friend)was one. All the rooms were for about 40- 60 of those protecting her. They were on the tax payers dime.
