I actually do not have a problem with this. I haven't read the thread yet, so maybe someone brought up a valid concern, but outside of "how it looks", I don't see any real legitimate concern.

How can you be responsible for 40,000 US troops in Afghanistan who die on a daily basis and go on holiday at peace of mind? Not to mention the economic situation clouding the nation. This must be the biggest threat to US sovereign since the cold war and the world wars, who recalls from the history book's roosevelt going on holiday? There's work to be done and this entire situation is hypocritical. Bush wasn't ruling during the height of economic turbulence. Every cent is a cent worth keeping and the Obama's should appreciate that.

It just doesn't look good.
