Judge blocks part of controversial Arizona immigration law

j-mac not slamming you, so don't take it that way, just responding.

And yet, Bush and GW Bush and the GOP controlled congress did nothing to fix it or control the border. And, it sounds like it will never happen because as soon as this gets out of the lime light, we will go back to business as usual. Why, the GOP is afraid of losing those latinos that are GOP, and don't kid yourself, their are many. And, the democrats don't want to make people responsible. I say screw it, fix the border, no matter who you piss off. I am a latino, please piss me off. Just fix it. sorry for the rant.

I don't agree with non cooperation between the top Dem's and the top GOP. BUT, the GOP cannot whine about anything, they put this one upon themselves by deciding from the beginning to OPPOSE everything and chastizing (sic) anyone who supported their opposition. So, the GOP needs to be honest also. Two wrongs don't make it right. What we (you and I) need to understand is that this is business as usual, and any minority party claims it.

Yeah, and it took GW Bush and the GOP controlled congress to get what we have now. What is sad, is that this will be like a broken record, a GOP Prez and Congress will come back, and they won't fix anything either, and then we'll be back to square one, they will get voted out, and we'll get some more spineless policito's. j-mac, you and I need to be in charge and fix everything and say f it.

Don't just blame this on the demo's, the GOP hated it whenever anyone brought up the duping we got from GW Bush and company. The truth hurts anyone. Now if we could non ranters to give us just facts, I'd be happy. The problem, IMHO, is that to many people rely on someone to give them their opinion. They should research and learn how to think for themselves.
I have to say you made some good points here and your right, I am with ya and want to piss people off, something needs to be done and it is up to the voter to make sure it happens. That said I am afraid nothing will become of this, the American people have a very short attention span when things get back to normal economically speaking.

Reagan was a real president, who worked with democrats, and did not say screw everything democrat

Yes, and in working with democrats he got screwed, his legacy tarnished, because of that mistake. The bill regarding immigration was supposed to be mildly "comprehensive", supposedly helping to create and enforce laws that would stem the tide of illegal imigration and keep the situation from happening again. Not surprisingly, the thing that happens instantly...amnesty...that the Democrats wanted happened. The more heavily enforced immigration policies, the new more stringent rules that were followed, etc? Yeah, those never really came to pass in any meaningful way.

You want to know why Republicans and their constituents may not want to get on board with "comprehensive" reform? Because we've been burned by the bull**** lies of "Give us amnesty instantly and we'll give you stronger enforcement" before. Fool us once and all that jazz.

And, as stated above, the GOP was in control of the prez and congress for a number of years and nothing was done. He was not tarnished, he was a leader. Tarnished is not doing NOTHING. Still another excuse for nothing being done. Also, not a slam, but one of the tenents of the GOP is protect our country. Why wasn't the border secured? Hell, we know why the dem's don't do it, but why not the GOP? They had control from 2000 to 2006. See the partisan bs is what stops everything. Screw that, get if fixed. We are being invaded in AZ.

So If Im mexican I should deal with having to possibly prove my citizenship everywhere I go possibly. Even if I were legal. At the risk of ending up detained for not having papers?

I dont care about catching illegals that much. Its the legals that may suffer due to this that bothers me.

You are not going to have to prove your citizenship EVERYWHERE you go. Stop exaggerating. And yes, you need to put up with the possibility of being inconvenienced at times but unless you are doing things like driving an old beat up pickup truck on the road with a dozen latinos in the back you probably won't be. They are not going to stop a latino walking through the airport with his brieface on his way to a business trip just because he is latino. Sorry, illegals aren't walking around with an "ILLEGAL" stamp on their foreheads. You can't expect perfect judgement on the law officers part. You, like a lot of people who want to protect illegal activity, just want the criteria to be so narrowly focused that the law cannot be enforced.

I hear you, but you're assuming I am actually complimentary of the Republicans and their stay of power in 2000-2006. Immigration is an issue I've fervently unhappy with Bush about and was vocal about during his time in power. I was continually upset with the republican controlled congress with regards to abandoning conservative principles.

Hell two latinos, wow, that is enough to make an assumption about all latinos. Yeah, only college educated latinos want to see illegal immigration gone. Did you know that in California, in the early 1900's immigrants from Mexico, created gangs, that are still in place today, to protect themselve from being attacked by the latino americans who did not want them here.

Did you know, many latino americans support sheriff joe (I am not one), but many do. Did you know that not all latino americas, educated and uneducated, don't think alike. Wow, a revelation.

Let me give you some more facts. During the demostrations on 7-29, there were many Anglos protesting 1070.
Many? That is more than 3, right? and what were the total numbers protesting? It was pitiful. The news videos I saw tell a different story. Only a few ordinary citizens want the illegals here.
The only fair thing to do is for AZ and the USA to have the same rules for immigration. And we should build the same quality prisons that Mexico has to house all those who get caught.
