White House apologizes to ousted official

I still think that her actions were disgusting as what she said. Sure she 'fixed' it in the end, but in my book she still acted in a disgusting manner. If a white man kicked a black hobo and called him a N-word and then gave him $5 for food that doesn't change his original actions.

Let me guess, you are a white person?
Do you realize she spoke about her father being murdered by white people, there were three witnesses, yet there was nobody prosecuted for this crime.
I am sorry but you are wrong, the experiences of a black person and a white person are NOT equivalent in a white dominated country.

These "If a white man..." equivalencies are bull crap and you should know it.

I think that's a racist attitude.

@ Middleground -- I was curious, so I looked it up:
In the full 43-minute video, Sherrod also criticized what she called the "mean-spirited" reaction to the Democratic health care bill. "Some of the racism we thought was buried, didn't it surface?" she said. "Now we endured eight years of the Bushes, and we didn't do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black president."

Does anyone remember all the enraged posts that the conservatives here did when Rush Limbaugh made comments like these:

“Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”

“Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”

“They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?”

“We need segregated buses."

And how they all demanded he resign? And that his statements were reprehensible and how he was a terrible racist?

Yeah, me neither.

Yeah, me neither.

I could have sworn Limbaugh was a political commentator/satirist.... when did he go to work for the government ??

This is just disgusting. Until people start treating racism equally in both directions, it's going to be a problem. Racism is racism. It doesn't matter at all whether it's black vs. white, white vs. black, black vs. asian. It's all the same. It's idiotic to say otherwise.

Give me a source. I always have thought he was a sexist pig. Give me a source for these and he's a racist pig too. Those comments are disgusting.

Ah, so not only is there a different standard when you're white, but there's one as to whether you work for the government or not? If you're not working for the government, it's not a racist a statement?

By that standard, nothing this woman did was wrong since it all happened 24 years ago before she was a government employee, huh?

He can't. Most of these quotes never happened.

Let me help you out.... a private citizen can say almost anything they want. The only repercussions they can expect are from their boss and the general public.

Could a government employee say the things listed in your undocumented list without being fired ??

Nope. But should it be excused if not said by a government employee? Nope also.

Good thing that the government employee in this case never said anything like that, and instead was speaking out against racism, huh?

I think that's a racist attitude.
I'm not really surprised or care of your opinion. I don't think you have very much empathy especially for black people.
I sincerely hope you father wasn't murdered by racists.

What do you think she exactly means by this? Me, I am not sure. I she saying that Republicans are being difficult because Obama is black?
Ya' know, I'm not sure. You could be right. That would certainly be racist.

Or, it could be that she meant racism surfaced when he was running for nomination/election. That would certainly be true.

I didn't hear the words....so it's that "outa' context' thingie again.

Oh please.

wow... an opinion blog that references another opinion blog as their source.

I'm convinced.

In other words, you are denying that Limbaugh made the quotes he made? Is that it?

Thx for being reasonable, Maggie. Only she can answer to the context of her quote. As we all know, words and meaning ofter get misconstrued.
