For those of you who don't want to bother with downloading software.

'Binaural beats' is the appropriate link. I only link to the main page because the website itself is awesome; some of the aural issusions are stunning ('holophonic sound' with a good pair of headphones is excellent, as are the Chromatic Illusion and Shepherd Tones).

Enjoy!

These same frequencies are said to be responsible for influencing the brain to release certain chemicals/hormones into the blood (hormones related to metabolism, sleep, testosterone etc - and most of the music we listen to have physical/mental affects on us anyway ).

Thus the reason I avoid crap-head music.:D

Re: I-Dosing: How teenagers are getting 'digitally high' from music they download fro

I'd rather suck on a tube sock full of gold paint.

My chemical romance for example ups the chance of suicide :2razz:

God, how depressing.

They're only getting one half of it right. You also need to obscure your vision with a uniform color to achieve the Ganzfeld effect. Ganzfeld effect makes you feel blind basically and the rhythmic music obscures your hearing. So basically it's sensory deprivation plus tricking your mind, then your mind will try to make sense of it all and you can have hallucinations. So iDosing is just a cheap party trick basically and they aren't even getting it all the way right.

I bet it works better if you are drunk or high.

It's how we used to get high back before the digital age.

By eating horribly out of date cheese?

You are so right. Those who claim i-dosing works forget about the six pack they drank right before they began listening. LOL.

To become high by way of snorting or sniffing cat piss.

OKay then.

Re: I-Dosing: How teenagers are getting 'digitally high' from music they download fro

:rofl

Valerian root and rose hips is natural and works just fine, too -

*snorting cat piss* You've got to be kidding me. Being high isn't THAT great.

Re: I-Dosing: How teenagers are getting 'digitally high' from music they download fro

This sounds like bs to me..... anyone here into "I-dosing"? :doh

Actually, this sounds like a very good idea.

Tell teenagers that certain music on the internet is basically drugs, and will get you high. Stress over and over again what a bad idea it would be to download this music. Teachers and parents would have talks about the dangerous effects of "i-narcotics" until the teenagers are drooling from boredom.

So of course they would then download the music and listen to it. And think they are getting high from it.
They'd be so busy thinking they're getting high from placebo drugs that they'd completely ignore getting into real, actually dangerous drugs.

And that's how we'll solve the illegal drug problem.

Yeah, life's enough of a b*tch as it is.:D

Re: I-Dosing: How teenagers are getting 'digitally high' from music they download fro

It is my understanding that drugs simply cause your body to release certain naturally-occurring chemicals/endorphins/whatever, such as dopamine and epinephrine (adrenaline), which is where the "high" comes from.

It has always seemed to me that there must be other triggers which could cause states similar to those caused by various drugs.
We all know about the mild rush caused by exercise, but there must be other ways to trigger an even more potent "natural" high.
Trust me, I spent a lot of time pondering such things when I was younger.

You mean to tell me you've never tried cheesing, aka "Mary Jane piss-in-your-face Fun Time"?
Tsk, tsk. You reeeeally don't know what you're missing.

Binaural songs are the only way of really getting 'high' of music I have ever actually heard of that is legitimate. Certain tones make you warm or buzzy after a while.
