Neo-Nazi Group Patrolling Ariz. Border

The media already does this and they will be laughed at when they try or the media will get ignored. Look at the minutemen, even though they are a racially and ethnically diverse group they get labeled racist and these claims of racism are not even based on anything.

I wish it were true that CBS would be laughed at for this type of reporting, but the reality is that they are not, not yet anyway. The question of this article should be two fold, one Neo Nazi's should not be supported in their intent to be at the border, that can't end well. Two, CBS should be ashamed for overtly biased, and smear type agenda reporting that makes them the laughing stock of journalism.

I agree... but what I'm saying is that in the media, this will be used as a way of subtle demonization by association. Now, because neo-nazi groups support closing the border, it can be implied that everyone that supports closing the border are neo-nazis. It's stupid, but propaganda like this is aimed at the lowest common denominator, when heard as a sound bite.

I actually agree with this take on it. The Neo-Nazis are doing this cause far more harm than good. It allows the media and advocacy groups to paint supporters of this law as racists and nazis. In reality, the law is NOT unconstitutional (other states have similar laws). Southern Poverty Law Center is already beating the drum and calling anyone who supports this law a racist. Think about it...it's a great way to silence dissent.

It is an attempt to smear others (MinuteMen etc.), as similar to these guys, which these particular people haven't done anything wrong in the first place.

It is not an attempt to smear, it is an attempt to tell you Neo Nazi's have taken on duties to patrol. I am with Danahera on this issue. If the black panthers or a chicano gang were doing the same thing, the Right would be up in Arms. I don't disagree with any group performing block watches, e.g. minute men have served a good duty by both reporting illegal activity and by calling rescue agencies for those who are exposed to the desert and about to die, but I am opposed to non law enforcement, performing law enforcement.

Mobile neighborhood watch frequently relies on local citizens to see and report criminal behavior to law enforcement. I would say that there isn't a lot of difference, in practice, aside from the group's racial bias.

This so reminds me of the South Park episode with the town flag where those wanting it to be kept the same for histories sake were trying to get the KKK to support the othe side because people were automatically going to vote against whatever the KKK supported.

The only people who will buy into or claim to buy into it are the pro-illegals and illegals. Most intelligent people will see past the lame attempt to lump nazis in with patriotic Americans. Pro-illegals have been playing the race card for years, anytime the see some lone racist holding up a sign they use him to paint everyone else against illegal immigration and open borders as racist or xenophobic. Its part of their usual tactics like lumping illegals in with immigrants or lumping all people who happen to be Hispanic as supporting illegal immigration or using words that are vague, do not contain any hint of illegality when describing illegals.
