you must be hoping for failure.
Obama's been promoting failure since the day the well blew out.

Not just good news, this is GREAT news. The gov was back and forth all week on whether or not they were even going to allow the swap. Why, I can not figure out.
I have seen pics of some of the new proposed containment caps and they are all MUCH better than what is on there now. With a hard seal to the BOP, the column of mud they will be able to achieve during bottom kill is going to be a few thousand feet taller, allowing them to use a lower mud weight. If it wasn't already before, bottom kill is definitely a lock now.
Are we sure that Obama won't block this latest effort in some way? I mean, there has to be tons of impact studies done first right?

If all goes according to plan, the combination of the cap and the new vessel could collect all the leaking oil by Monday.
This is great news, and I truly hope it works as planned.
However, just about an hour ago, BP announced that it would take four to seven days to complete the work of fitting/securing the new cap. This doesn't sound good, folks.
4 to 7 days as opposed to 4 years to let the well bleed dry on it's own isn't good news?
Originally, BP said the job would most likely be finished by tomorrow.
Today, they're saying maybe Thursday, maybe a week from today.
BP's assessment of its ability to handle this disaster of their own making has been in question from day one. Today's announcement is one more example of their guile. They have misrepresented everything they've done thus far, and have proven themselves utterly incapable of honesty through their words, and completely lacking in planning and foresight in their craft.
Pardon me if I have no faith in BP's honesty or ability throughout this entire event.
Er, no, "originally" BP did not have control of the spill at all, and before this story no one was expecting a solution until August. 4-7 days from today seems pretty good.

I recommend reading the OP and/or the title of this thread. It will help you to avoid appearing like a fool.
BP's original assessment of success in fitting the new cap:
That assessment has now been walked back four to seven more days.
Jesus.

New cap is on.
!!!!!
the response to the spill exposed a white house either "not fully competent or not fully candid with the american people"
You really should keep up with the media, not just throw political mud and hope it sticks.
The fault was BPs because the last leak fix showed they could just pull the BOP and replace it.
Why they didn't do the same thing with the first BOP and prevent the huge oil spill, the start is still a mystery.
