Etheridge caught in on-camera confrontation

I get a kick out of NPR....They open up describing Etheridge as a 'Moderate' when a simply check of his voting record clearly shows that he is a solid populist, progressive favoring illegal immigration, and against abortion restrictions. he voted straight down the line for the bailouts, as well as Obama's non stimulus package.

Moderate....hurumph!

Bob Etheridge on the Issues

So you're saying that the claims of NPR being unbiased and holding the standard of journalistic integrity is bupkus?

Helen Thomas hit his treasonist, lying ass on the head. Watch him bite his lip as he knew Helen had pulled the curtain back on his pack of lies.

Bush the liar. Bush the treasonist. Bush the worst president in U.S. history.

Tell us how you really feel.

What? Me?.....Nah....Everyone knows that there is no such thing as liberal bias in today's journalism.....[/Sarcasm]

And you have something to support your claim that he is a
"progressive favoring illegal immigration"... right?

So I'm gonna pick up rev's question now because I want to see the answer from hazlnut: what would YOU, hazlnut, have done if rev did the same thing to you that Etheridge did to those kids? Would you be so flippant about dismissing it as a "hyuck hycuk hyuck...he sure showed me" situation?

Your hypothetical would never happen.

However, for "****s and giggles", if it did happen
hazlnut would probably fall to the ground laughing his ass off.

Fair question:

Jall, if I EVER run up to sitting Congressman Rev and shove a camera in face with intention of getting him to react to a dumb-ass question, Rev has my permission to knock my camera down and grab me by the scruff of my neck...

Again, if I EVER do that...

Of course, when I identify myself as hazlnut from DP, Rev will piss himself, wake up from his dream and apologize...;););)

I don't see any relevance to the fact that he was an elected official.

If you asked any man walking down the street what time it was, and he attacked you like this wouldn't you want him arrested? Of course you would. Yuo simply are not allowed to put your hands on another person period.

It could also be argued that after the kid requested his arm to be let go more than once it was then kidnapping. I would have to check the statute on that but the man did prevent the kid from leaving at that point.

If this man is not prosecuted for this assault, I think at least the kid should file a civil suit againt him.

People like this should not be walking the street. Who knows who he is going to attack next.

That is not what these kids were doing though.

It doesn't change anything what the question was nor the fact that there was a camera present.

The attack was unprovoked and the man could have walked away but he didn't, that was his choice. The man created this situation, not the kids.

If I was a student standing on the street, I wouldn't even expect a Congressman to answer any question I ask but I wouldn't expect to be attacked either.

Fine and if you get in a situation where people are sticking cameras in your face I hope you act better than this Senator did. However I will not argue that these journalism students were not trying to provoke a reaction. And I bet they are high fiving each other over the reaction they did get.

You are making quite an assumption about the students. You got that from the question they asked?

I can tell by what they did. They were trying to provoke a reaction and they got one. And a pretty good one IMO. Have you heard Henri Cartier Bresson talk about the decisive moment? Well these kids achieved it. Kudos to them but if you can dish it out expect it back.

It is revealed exactly what they were up to when they refused to give their names or school. He first ask them who are you. When the guy doesn't answer him the congressman realizes this is some college kid's prank and then goes after the guy.
Am not supporting the alcoholic looking congressman but am not shedding tears for the guy's prank mishap.

Hardly a mishap, they were after a story, and the Congressman moronically handed them a huge one. I would call that a success.

NOT the kids???

Not the kids??

Not the kids??

What are you, kidding me?

If those two little assholes weren't there with their camera and dumb-ass question, it would have never happened. Just like the tools in the American flag t-shirts... they went looking for a little trouble and found more than they bargained for.

That shaking, scared little boy voice gets me every time.... "we're students, sir..." The damn cowards couldn't even give the name of the their school. I'm sure the school appreciates not being associated with these tools.

I ain't sayin' what Etheridge did was right, but it sure is funny to watch.:2wave:

Funny like Grandpa pissing his pants at Christmas dinner.

Their presence was not the issue, this is only a story because the Congressman reacted in the manner that he did.

Scarred or not, the only person who comes out of this looking like a complete idiot is the Congressman.

Understood mein heir in Obama's 4th Reich citizens will be verboten from asking questions from their leaders, those who do will be met with violence. Seig Heil. Carry on.

Funny like two punk kids ding-dong ditching the Munsters... and running smack into Herman.

By your thought process if the Congressman wasn't walking downthe street it wouldn't have happened either.

The first one to break the law is at fault, the would be the Congressman.

Why are you defending his actions?

My god, he did look like Herman...lol....................Oh those poor little rich college boys...

OK now they were rich.

Where in the story did it say that?
