Poll: BP Oil Spill Response Rated Worse than Katrina

This is the worst response to a disaster I've every seen. Instead of putting protection of the coastline as the first priority, Obama has spent a month pointing fingers at BP and talking about how responsible they are for this. Obama can't do **** about the leak in any meaningful way, but he does have the power and resources to help the governors of the coastal states prepare for the oil coming ashore. He should have jumped on this first thing, and thrown everything he had at it. He'd have been a big hero by now, because he helped the people first. Beating up BP could have come later. Face it, Obama ****ed up.

Also not waiving the Jones act, and not even speaking to the CEO of BP. He **** the bed on this one.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 allowed oil companies to exploit numerous loopholes in regulatory laws, and it is widely believed that this bill was a result of Dick Cheney's infamous "Energy Task Force" meetings. Don't believe me though, go read the House Energy and Commerce Committee's investigation on the matter.

Why didn't the Dem Congress repeal it?
