Hamas not a terrorist group, says Turkey's PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Godwin's law. Do we have to bring Nazi's into everything? The point could be made without upping the rhetoric to that level.

I guess I could have used Mussolini, or Pol Pot, but most Liberals wouldn't know who I was talking about. Do you have a problem with historical examples to prove a point, or does reality sting a little too much?

And yet this liberal made the point that Hamas is a terrorist organization without invoking Godwin's Law.

Yep.

Sure would be nice wouldn't it?

Tex, feel free to go and find me calling people "Nazi's", or making the comparison to Nazi's or Hitler. I may have done it, maybe once or twice out of how many posts here?

LOL No way we come close to your side.

That wasn't my point and you know it. The point was both sides do it. Your side in spades.

I am my side. I don't accept responsibility for any one but myself. I also think you will find me condemning people who wave around signs like the ones you showed.

texmaster needs you to be on a side because if you're not then that's too difficult for him to process. Same with Israel/Palestine.

And Hamas isn't a terrorist organization..... right?

Oh well that makes it all ok then. (also I'm not so sure you're correct)

P.S. Your signature doesn't make much sense. Your "definition" doesn't describe a noun.

Hell, the one time in decades that we actually began protesting against the government we get crapped on for protesting. (Tea Party)

For the left protesting is such a common occurance they have professional protesters.

When there is someone like Sheehan the press can ride like a whore... they ride her until there's nothing left.

When she comes out against Obama... they start to stick knives in her. She served their purpose and then tell her it's time to shut her yap.

.

This explains a lot.
Now we have a NATO "ally" siding with terrorist enema's, or at a minimum unable to differentiate between a terrorist and non-terrorist organization.
All intel to Turkey should be cut off immediately, or they should be fed false info to see what comes of it.

I hope Europeans get a shot of sobriety and find other vacation destinations other than Turkey.
The only way to make them wake up is to hit them in the pocket book.

My bet is it will be barely reported.

I wonder... would this have happened under Bush?
I highly doubt it.

But... given the opportunity with a weak president, they have to seize the moment... now!

.

Christ, im ashamed.

We need this guy back again to set those bastards straight:

Erdogan DOES NOT represent the Kemalist majority.

What you are witnessing is called a paradigm shift. .

Yes, we have certainly witnessed a paradigm shift in recent years, but in different ways. Much of the left has abandoned liberalism as a guiding principle and now acts increasingly as the mouthpiece for the most visciously anti-liberal, totalitarian ideology on the planet. Correspondingly , any who are actually concerned with liberal values are sneered at as "conservative" by this new illiberal left.

It's tough to tell the difference between a stormfront member and a dogmatic leftist any more. Same cr@p, but just facing a different direction.

:rofl

Brilliant parody! Great job. I almost believed you where serious a moment.

Hamas is a terrorist, genocidal organization that, its regular rockets launching that are aimed at civilians and civilian populations aside, has sent in the past dozens of suicide bombers to blow themselves up in buses, restaurants, hotels, and public places.
Its ideology promotes the destruction of the state of Israel through the inflicting of terror on its civilians, and it has many anti-Semitic elements within it, calling for the killing of Jews.
In its educational shows on its Gazan TV channels it is indoctrinating the children to hate on Jews, and tells them the benefits of becoming a Shahid (martyr) by killing innocent Jewish people.

It is very disturbing to see what has become of Turkey.
This cannot go on and the Turkish people should see what exactly has hijacked their country already.

ANKARA (Combined Sources)–Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan continued his government’s denial of the ongoing genocide in Darfur on Sunday, questioning International Criminal Court (ICC) charges against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on grounds that “no Muslim could perpetrate a genocide,” the Turkish Today’s Zaman newspaper reported Monday.

Guy ain't exactly honest now is he?

If Mexico occupied Houston, TX, the inhabitants would probably be rather upset. And Hamas was elected.

So was the Nazi party. Upon being elected as the majority party of Palestinian Parliament they instigated a coup de'ta and overtook all of Gaza and took over the police force. Hamas a) calls for the extermination of world Jewry in their charter, b) calls for the destruction of Israel in their charter, c) refuses any peace plan in their charter, in practice they intentionally target civilans, they use civilians as human shields, they strap bombs to children, they proliferate a climate of fear and persecution for non-Muslims in the disputed territories, etc etc.

This isn't to say that Hamas is blameless in this conflict, far from it. My point is that labeling them EVILDOERS and calling it a day isn't the way to go about it.

I don't think anyone's suggested calling it a day, I suggest wiping out every single last Islamist POS on the planet and that would include not only Hamas but the Islamist led government of Turkey as well.

Nice selective quoting technique there, keep it up. We can all have a go. Here's the same quote in its context:

"I can’t comfortably talk about this [Gaza] with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, but I can comfortably talk with Omar Bashir and tell him to his face that ‘what you’re doing is wrong.’ A Muslim cannot commit genocide. If there is such a thing, it’s impossible not to identify it. We can comfortably talk about that as well. We say: ‘You cannot do such a thing. You don’t have the right’,"

“Turkey at least has the confidence. I also conveyed my comfort on this issue to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. I told him that we are ready if there is any duty that falls to us." [source TRT]

See? So, in context, your quote demonstrates exactly the opposite of what you are trying to claim. Erdoğan the genocıde denier becomes Erdoğan, the man prepared to confront the war criminal. Turkey is also prepared to step up to UN duties in Darfur.

Your attempt to demonise Turkey and its PM...big FAIL.

He's a disgrace to the Turkish nation and the Turkish people.

I agree with you. I'm pissed off Israel killed some of our citizens and its trigger happiness, dont get me wrong, but for christ sakes. To then turn around and say Hamas isn't a terrorist organization. That is one step WAY to far. Even Islamist Erdogan cannot completely destroy our historical ties. In Antalya, its called little-Israel down that way for a reason. Packed with them. And we recieve 500,000 Israeli's a year especially in Fetiyhe. Nice people. This abuse of trust is sad, its a relationship which has been built on nothing but unconditional friendship between two nations which is being destroyed and argueably it has already been destroyed. Even in the US, the friendship is predominantly down to strong lobby groups among anything else. In Turkey there is no huge Jewish lobby group. In the past, relations where based not on political pressure but a mutual respect. Id argue our friendship was even more unconditional than that of the US. This deterioration will hurt the Middle East more than it does anything else, it will hurt NATO and it will hurt Democratic political unity in the region, especially against Iran. Now, Erdogan is a hypocrit. Anybody could say the PKK is therefore not a terrorist group judging from what Erdogan based his opinion which stops Hamas being a terrorist group.

What I find amusing about this whole incident is how the world and Gaza residents are having such a big cry about humanitarian aid that is "desperately needed" not being able to reach Gaza due to the blockade...is why the people in Gaza actually democratically elected Hamas to power in the first place. If Israel thinks that Hamas is a terrorist organization and refuses to bulge at all from its stance of blockade, then why complain? You guys chose Hamas, then you gotta suffer the consequences.
