Blumenthal's words on Vietnam Service differ from History

You know you laughed.

I haven't been here long enough to determine consistency in posts...what I have determined is that a few conservatives list their leanings as 'very liberal" and lefties, vice versa. I'm happy to participate in your ruse and chuckles, however....your statement was a spot on description of lefty justification.

I'll give you some pointers. I am despised by most liberals on here. Redress and I are polar opposites. He is no conservative and I am no liberal.

I only changed my profile when I saw she/he changed theirs.

Look at my sig for God's sake.

But yes on this particular issue I do believe it is overblown since there are 10 times the amount of incidences where he was accurate about his service during Vietnam.

If he had only said he served in Vietnam I would be with you but considering the sheer number of times he was accurate I'm much more willing to consider this was a mistake and not a calculation.

And oddly, I don't think this is overblown. Kevin Mathiews did a great piece on this, showing some of the reporting of him being a Vietnam vet, reporting he had to know about and never once corrected. I have a tremendous amount of respect for any one who served the country in the military, and I think most Americans do. There is no need to exaggerate, or allow exaggeration about service. I expect better.

LOL The irony of this is really funny. We can't even agree on this.

Exaggeration is possible but not provable. Considering the amount of times he was accurate its far more plausible he simply misspoke.

It is amusing. Even when one of us aligns in an unexpected position, the other ends up pointed the other way. On the other hand, I do have a lot of respect for your position on this.

If you think Blumenthal's despicable lie...one attempting to advance his social / political/ public stature on the backs of those that served and died while actually in Nam "overblown", I may have a problem with your ability to disseminate other information presented, and will look upon your claims of conservatism with a jaundiced eye from this point forward.

No you don't. (just keeping with the theme) :D

LOL!!! You don't have a clue then if you are questioning my conservative values.

Disseminate this information. How do you explain the fact that he has been accurate about his service 95% of the time? If it was deception and lie he was after, why have an overwhelming number of times on record of being accurate?

You can "LOL" all you want...I'll still be taking your "conservative values" with a grain of salt.

Blumenthal exposed extremely sociopathic behavior with his lie.

"95%" of the time, other sociopaths...rapist and murderers... are cooling their heels presenting a "normal" persona to society...

Core values are unwavering....yours are flapping in the wind.

I don't think this word "sociopath" means what you think it does.

Are you a psycologist?...I'm "suffering" through the effects of a public high school education....why don't you enlighten me?

If you would prefer not to stick your neck out, and only provide snarky comments...I'll consider it predictable, and will understand your reticence to contribute any value to this discussion

Express your disagreement, then....I, along with many others, are perhaps hanging on your every, enlightened word.

[offtopic]Sometimes posting here and seeing us go at it tooth and nail, sometimes over stupidly trivial issues, I begin to despair for the future of politics. And then, out of nowhere, something like this comes along, where people line up in unexpected ways, and people who normally can't agree on anything find some small area of common ground, and people look past simple partisanship...and I feel alot better for awhile.[/offtopic]

Hmm... some of us have gone places and been shot at for our country... some have not....

To claim you have when you haven't (in his case multiple references to serving "in" vietnam.) is highly offensive.... almost as offensive as fake vets....

This guy lived off the honor of others for years. right left up or down. this guy is a disgrace.

suggesting he made a "mistake" or "mispoke" indicates that either he is an idiot or we are......
