I have a plane ticket to Bangkok for July, and out of it for September. Would you still use these tickets if you were me, or would you change your flying into and out of destination?

What are your predictions about how the situation in Thailand will pan out? Have todays events foiled the peace plans beyond repair? Will Thailand ever be a safe destination for tourists again?
 
This whole deal in Thailand is messy, and it's kinda retarded. These people who claim to be standing for democracy, well are they really? I mean they can't do the democratic thing and vote the guy out of power when it's his turn, cause all that's gonna happen if the government gives in, is that a red shirt dude will be put in power, then the yellow shirts will protest, and a yellow shirt will get in, and then maybe some plad people will come...
 
I was there 4 years ago when all this started. I was surprised to see that a seemingly non violent coup had happened and the money the ousted government stole had been returned.

I wondered at the time, if maybe western governments were doing the wrong thing by tolerating certain leaders for their full term, if they can be removed without violence. Current events in Bangkok are knocking that theory on the head.
