Los Angeles to boycott Arizona over immigration law

As the insidious tentacles of federal government expand, and individual state rights and governments are minimized and marginalized, the freedom to seek ones personal "utopian paradise" will soon be moot.

No escape....

I would still love to know the county where SgtRock parks his trailer.

Another "moderate" (confused, or intellectually dishonest leftie), exposing their bigotry towards socio-economic classes.

What's your stance on the Tea Party, lefty?

There's no point in arguing with hazlnut, as you'll quickly learn.

That's not even funny or appropriate. When you make comments like this, it only diminishes your arguments and legitimizes his.

Damn, man. Damn.

Or to quote hazelnut caught mid pose yet ensnared in his own net, he does not seem to realize that with overuse and misuse, his constant really excited Chihuahua like baits goads and sniveling snarling at bath time shtick renders any point he is trying to make meaningless. And has since he arrived from the rather ready to stroke out zone IMO. I just literally paraphrased the Not So Great Pretender too.

Need links? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

Gotta give credit where race baiting common as Chihuahua "moderate" foam at the mouth at bath time, snarling sniveling bark skeet skeet bark grrr snap *snap* is due eh?

I think we have found Billo's long lost hyperbolic bile gland imitating a sucking chest wound with gaping lip like structure................repeating over and over, please, please PAY ATTENTION TO ME!

There is talk of Arizona boycotting California, Los Angeles in particular. This could be a big problem for the Golden State since much needed water and electricity comes from Arizona. Personally I think Arizona should cut of the water and electricity. Wouldn't that serve them right.

Hell Yeah, Boycott California!

Just out of curiosity, what utopian paradise do you live in?

I happen to live less than 10 miles from the owner of this forum and Lead Moderator, Vauge. Does the name ring a bell?

Why thankyou Jallman, I never thought I would see the day that you came to my defence. Your allright, I don't care what CC says about you.

ludahai;1058747609 There you go again, being moved... Nothing is being moved. You are doing the spinning, not me. How can you move something that had never been assigned in the first place.

You need to look and see where I put "not choosen." Yes you are spinning and detracting from the point I am making. Choosen means that something was considered, but for reasons known only to the a person or entity, something was not chosen, e.g. hot immigration issue, city decided to pay, whatever, etc.

ludahai;1058747609 You think I care what a talking head has to say?

Good come back. I don't know if you are faithful follower of brother Rush, or Brother Hannity, or Fox News, etc. But, many who are GOP or Conservative, care what these people state, in fact, they base their opinions on what they say. So maybe you don't care, but maybe the GOP cares that this talking head has to say.

ludahai;1058747609 Legislative process takes time. I think it is smart to see how this one works before jumping on the bandwagon. Besides, the only other red state on the border is Texas.

Legislative process take time equates to "oh crap, we better not do this because we may look like the bigots in AZ, and people may boycott." If this law was so solid, and if the GOP states where so for this law, why not pass it? Why not say, hey AZ we back you? Hey we'll send you some business, we'll back you up. Instead they wait and see. Sounds like someone who is a coward, not a supporter.

ludahai;1058747609 People are sheep -- especially liberals. New Hampshire dealt with it for many years too despite the fact that the day 48 other states designated as MLK Day was designated as Civil Rights Day in New Hampshire -- a FAR MORE inclusive holiday. Fortunately, NH is not as much at the mercy of boycotts because it is not a convention hub and individual tourists kept coming to the state.

I agree people are sheep, but conservative are sheep also, but people are also ostrichs (sic) especially conservatives e.g. see above, "I do whatever conserative pundits or news outlets tell me to do." The MLK holiday issue caused our state to lose countless dollars and made us look like a bunch of bigots. The fact that our state depends on tourist/convention dollars is fact that needs to be a strong consideration for not appearing as a place were bigots.

ludahai;1058747609 This is not a law about naturalization -- this is a law about following the rules about being in the country legally and providing law enforcement guidelines to enforce EXISTING LAWS!!!

Again, people are ostrichs (sic). Naturalization includes enforcing laws of naturalization, e.g. illegal immigration, citizenship process, etc. No it is a law that was created because the federal gov't, both GOP and Dem, failed to secure our borders and failed to do their job, which in turn cause conservatives in AZ to feel that we needed a law because we ain't getting the feds to help. I am all for enforcing immigration laws, and I am all for closing the border. Hell send illegals back by the billions, but don't use my state tax money to do this, use federal dollars, and make it the responsiibily of ICE to enforce the law.

The water is controlled by the feds, and we know what happens when the feds are in charge of enforcing laws . . . AZ has been screwed over with their water by California for years.

Hey were are the Red states in their support of AZ. Has any of them came out an said, screw california, we'll support you? crickets?

So has anyone seen influx of unemployed Americans flocking to Home Depot or applying for jobs picking oranges in Arizona now that the brown people are leaving the state?

I tell ya, it sucks being one of the few people who can still see where the pragmatic center is. I feel like the guy at the rock show who passed on the acid. Should I run for the door, or try to help some of you sober up?

A good idea hijacked by the angry fringe element all ginned from watching Glenn Back.

I suppose your version of "pragmatic center" includes bigotry towards 'selected' socio-economic classes beneath yours...."non-victims" deemed by you as ignorant, trailer inhabiting white folks whom are no use to forwarding your leftie agenda...

Exposing leftie bigots is a hobby of mine. Tread lightly.

As for your answer about the Tea Party....nice pat, talking point opinion. Obviouly garnered from leftie blogs, 'progressive' sites, the MSM and an administration that endlessly insults and marginalizes average Americans pissed off about an inept, bloated federal governments lack of accountability, fiscal irresponsibility, and selective, convenient adherance to the Constitution ... simply because they are a clear and present danger to progressive / leftist agenda.

Lookie here, we got a teabrain who thinks he's different. He thinks because he keeps his distain for minorities in high positions buried down deep inside, we can't smell the stench of bigotry and the dark red kool-aide coming off his every breath...

The teabagger talking points flow from a hole, but it's not a mouth...

"leftist" it's a dead giveaway, chum.

The word "moved" was used repeatedly. I was merely pointing out the inaccuracy of using that word. I am not a member of the GOP (full disclosure -- I once was a card carrying GOP member and ran for a local office on the GOP banner but left the party eight years ago), but I believe that Tampa was the right decision and that conclusion has NOTHING to do with the Arizona law problem. The other two proposed sites are pretty solidly in the GOP column. Florida is a slight GOP lean, but only slight, and the GOP needs that state to have a reasonable chance of winning the presidential election. The thinking going on is that such a high profile meeting in the state will lift the profile of the party. I am not sure I buy it, I don't know how many people change their vote based on the location of the party convention, but I understand the rationale from the GOP perspective.

I don't even have access to any of them from my current location. Even when I did and did from time to time listen to them, I would find that I disagreed with them from time to time as well. I think for myself. I have on more than one occassion criticized GOP members of this forum and GOP politicians.

Legislative process take time equates to "oh crap, we better not do this because we may look like the bigots in AZ, and people may boycott." Actually, I think it is correct to observe how this works in Arizona before adopting similar legislation. It is called being intelligent... I know intelligence is somethign we don't consider our politicians as having, but I know from experience that there are many intelligent legislators on both sides of the political aisle. Also, there is only one other GOP-border state on the southern border (Texas). I certainly hope they are looking at the implementation of this law and will consider similar legislation if this turns out to be at least somewhat effective.

I agree people are sheep, but conservative are sheep also, but people are also ostrichs (sic) especially conservatives e.g. see above, "I do whatever conserative pundits or news outlets tell me to do." The fact that our state depends on tourist/convention dollars is fact that needs to be a strong consideration for not appearing as a place were bigots.

I don't believe Arizonans were bigots. They were unfortunately cast in a bad light unfairly. I was also against the MLK holiday, but that does not make me a bigot. I was also a strong supporter of the New Hampshire compromise, but our state was also cast as being bigoted despite the fact that our old holiday observance was MORE inclusive than the MLK holiday is.

Again, people are ostrichs (sic). The illegal immigration laws were passed by the federal government. The state government of Arizona is merely passing laws to implement and enforce laws that are already on the books. In the absence of such enforcement from the national government, I support efforts from the states to do this...

Thanks for explaining. I take my hat off to you, and respect your observations. Good to hear how someone reasons on a subject without emotion. Wish I could do this more often, because I obviously have let this issue boil my blood. My distain is not with the law as much as the fact that the federal gov't gets another get out of jail free card. Arizona, who going broke, has to foot the bill to enforce this law, e.g. housing and prosecuting illegals. Not to mention, we are getting boycotted, when we need the money.

Why can't we discuss without the personal slights and insults?

Perhaps you are feeling a little "attacked" because you know the answer to the question.

You people claim "illegals" are coming in an stealing Americans jobs and that brown people are the main source of all your economic problems.

You claim that the Arizona law is working because brown people are leaving Arizona and afraid to go out to seek work.

If everything that you say is true....where are the masses of the unemployed able bodied Americans wanting to take those jobs? Have we seen them rushing down to stand outside Home Depot to take those jobs that the "illegals" had stolen from them or the migrant farm jobs that they so desperately wanted to have that the "illegals" took?
