Los Angeles to boycott Arizona over immigration law

Wish people in CA would hold thier elected officials accountable for lying about the new Az law. But it is California.

Good riddance. California would be better off. We have the 9th largest GNP in the world. The United States would have a difficult time surviving without us.

And yet you teeter on the verge of bankruptcy and couldnt survive without government bailouts. Wow...you ARE awesome...

I don't see how this affects us much at all economically. I think its important for our city to take a moral stand against this law. We should be keeping our money here in Los Angeles, or at least in California, rather than doing business with states that don't uphold our moral values.

Still waiting to hear how the Az low is immoral and unjust.

If it "isn't their business"...then what business does Los Angeles have doing business with Arizona?

I'm proud that my hometown has taken this stand.

Are you also proud that the legislators in your hometown don't seem to understand the first thing about the law they're so OUTRAGED!!111 about?

Yeah, because we hold an election every day at noon.:roll: Right before siesta.

I don't think anyone knows exactly how the AZ law is going to work in practice.

I'd love having Kalifornia become its own nation. All those electoral votes that support moonbats gone. No more Feinswine, Boxer or Pelosi infecting our nation with their PMS Powered mercedes marxist BS. Of course that means we would have to import more movies, tv shows and drag queens

Nice, a conservative who proudly wears his sexism and homophobia on his sleeve...

And shows his lack of education without fear... 'marxist'??:rofl

What?

Anyone who takes 5 minutes to read the law can understand exactly what it provides for. Absolutely nothing in the law allows a police officer to "summarily deport" anyone. That's not how deportation works. The law allows police officers to detain people with reasonable cause, and if they are unable to produce any identification, they can be turned over to federal officials who make the decisions from there. State officials have never been involved in deportation and this law isn't changing that. This is very basic stuff.

Considering that neither you nor your representative understands anything about the bill, I'm not giving much credence to your collective outrage.

But you'd lose me! Well, probably not. I'd probably move to Texas. It's not quite California, but it's not too bad.

Lets just welcome LEGAL mexicans with open arms! They deserve it!

For the illegals, they spit in the face of everyone that fought to be in this fantastic country legally.

It appears that a good number of city council people in the City of Angels have immigrants for parents.

Los Anheleeze

figure it out.

Ah yes, those crazy illegals pronouncing the city's name in such a strange way. Oh wait a minute... THEY SPEAK THE LANGUAGE THAT THE CITY'S NAME IS IN, WOOPS. Doesn't that mean that YOU are in fact the one pronouncing it incorrectly?

Anyway, that's really all I stopped in to say because I found it hilarious. I think I made my stance on this clear when my city did the same thing last week.

are you saying drag queens are gay? if you do research you will find that many transvestites are straight so take your butt hurt nonsense and stuff it:mrgreen:

and I am 100% right about those three twits. All rich little twits whose husbands bought them their political offices. I before you start with the typical liberal screams of "sexist" "racist" "homophobic" I was a huge fan of Dame Thatcher and other women whose politics I support.

Setting aside the oddity of the idea, my mind was blown by this:

How stupid can you be? If you don't understand how the bill works, maybe you shouldn't be voting on whether to boycott an entire state over it.

They do understand how the bill works. However lying about what the bill suits their pro-illegals agenda more than telling the truth. They hope that by demonizing it that other states my not do the same thing or maybe they can extort Arizonans into changing their mind. Never underestimate your opponents.

Los Angeles moral values such as disregarding laws, supporting criminal activity, and being a sanctuary city to thousands of people who disregard our laws and commit perjury by using fake or stolen SSN. Are you proud of the third worldification of your city? Los Angeles is a cesspool of criime, gangs, filth and disease. Its a shame that this once great city is now a third world dump.

To hell with LA

Here is one for LA:
News out here did not say what or who the 7-8m contacts between LA and Arizona are with. Most contracts that I have seen while working for the Feds and the State of AZ, had a breach of contract clause and a early termination clause. It will be interesting to see if AZ can collect penality dollars for LA breaching the contracts or terminating without just cause. IMO, LA could end up paying out dollars for no services/product. If so, good job LA.

I've lived in L.A. my entire life...After many visits to Chicago and New York City, I have mixed feelings about the greatness of Los Angeles. You can't beat the weather and the unique SoCal culture, food, lifestyle (Sand to Snow in 2 hours)... But the layout of the city creates an emotional detachment, lacking a center, and the shallowness of the entertainment business hurts the character of the city.

IMO - Chicago and New York City are as diverse as L.A. if not more so.

Believe it or not, there was a time when the 405 actually moved and getting to the West Side only took 30 minutes, door-to-door.

I definitely agree with you about the layout. However, there are several centers and neighborhood which is what give LA its character.

I also agree with you that Chicago and New York are great cities. In fact, Chicago is my favorite city in the US. The problem is, it just has so many other drawbacks.
NY is a great city as well, however, again, it lacks many of the amenities that LA offers.

I disagree with you however about the diversity. Chicago is not really that diverse. New York does compare to LA, however, LA is much more global in its diversity. There isn't a city around that offers the same cultural diversity that LA does.

Wow... I knew there are some ****ed up idiots in Cali, but I didn't realize that LA had councilmen that are incapable of reading and understanding laws. Perhaps y'all should do something about that nonsense.

Because of your signature I think it is necessary to go ahead and eliminate you from any credibility to determine what is and isn't American.
Apparently, you hate the United States to the point where you'd rather your state leave the union.

I don't hate, I leave the hating up to the Arch Enemy.

I'm just hoping bankruptcy will knock some sense into voters here.
