Students Wearing American Flag Shirts Sent Home

This is hilarious; if those dang Mexicans do it they're "anti-American" but if Americans do it then they should be defended.

This is sick, this principle should be fired, and the chicanos who are all but hurt about Americans wearing the American flag should STFU and get a life or repatriate to that dump of a country they came from.

Just out of curiosity, would you have the same reaction if the Mexican kids were told to take off their Mexican flag shirts on the 4th of July?

No. But I would have a slight chuckle to myself if they got the **** kicked out of them by some overly patriotic American students. Especially if some of those kickers were latino Americans themselves.

This is America after all and I do not think that Americans need to suffer disrespect from a bunch of third world expatriates on our most celebratory national holiday.

There's a big difference between Americans wearing an American flag shirt on a fake-ass Mexican holiday, and some Mexican kids wearing a Mexican flag shirt on the United States' Independence Day.

I wonder if some kid will have to remove his American flag shirt on St. Patty's Day, for fear of offending the Irish students...

No because the Irish came here with the intention of becoming Americans. They understand that they arrived as guests and earned a place with dedication to building America rather than arriving as invaders with insolence and contempt for American laws and values.

Can't argue when the man is right!

Exactly ... respect the land you are in while remembering your heritage. This is what America was built on...

What I'd like to know is did these 4 students say the pledge that morning. If they did then they are the biggest hypocrits on the planet. In fact, if the school said the pledge that morning, then THEY are the biggest hypocrits on the planet.

What about the flag that's in just about every classroom in every school? Were those taken down? If not, why take a flag bandana off a kid's head?

The hypocrisy is so thick it's blinding.

I stand by what I say. It's only liberals who pull this crap.

Stand by what you say all you want. It's still irrelevant partisan hackery.

[Channelling my inner Progressive Liberal]

Because America is an imperialistic international bully who stole land from Mexico and are a group of racist old white men who murder and rape brown people?

Don't taser me man, peace and no nukes.:pimpdaddy:

Proving that you do not know what a progressive-liberal would think.

As one, I think it is pretty silly for the principle to have done what he did. Perhaps, as Catz speculated, there may be some sort of motive surrounding some school issues, but if not, displaying the American flag on one's shirt... though technically against the US Flag Code, in no way "disrespects" Cinco de Mayo or Mexico. No one is required to celebrate any holiday.

Though I wouldn't do the whole "typical lieburulz" schtik, if I was a betting man, I'd bet this principle is slightly south of right wing.... :ssst:

Which is actually pretty irrelevant. Should conservatives get condemned each time a stupid conservative does something stupid?

Nah...even on American Independence day...a Mexican...in AMERICA...expressing his pride in being FROM Mexico is STILL a compliment to America.

Yes. Idiots don't have a choice but to be idiotis...

Yeah, but conservatives are born that way.

Now, shall we ALL stop the idiotic partisan hackery and discuss the issue... or shall we continue to make dumb overgeneralized partisan remarks that are irrelevant to the issue.

there's a difference there though, 4th of july celebrates the birth of a nation, cinco de watsy just celebrates a victory that has nothing to do with america in any way.

Actually, I would. Though the difference is that it would be an American holiday being celebrated in the US.

Regardless, though, I would see no reason for them to remove their shirts.

I believe the American Flag wearing students had every right to be confrontational by wearing 'patriotic' clothing, if that is what the situation warranted. This is America. If you choose to be here, be committed. If you're offended, you're not committed. If you're committed, grab your own Americana and display it prominently. Be humble.

I do not believe that an immigrant has the right to be confrontational with their former national colors at an American patriotic event. Well, they have the right, but I wouldn't mind them getting punched in the nose for it, nevertheless. This is America. Respect the land and the people you have joined.

I fully support immigration by the way, and absolutely sympathize with both legals and illegals. But, the immigrants I have been friends with love America. That's the way I like 'em.

This isn't about the flag shirts (didn't Kid Rock get dissed for wearing one to a Super-bowl game?)

Yes it is.

The flag boys were wanting to cause a disruption. Principals don't like disruptions. I would have sent them home to change and told them to be back in school in one hour.

If wearing the American Flag causes a disruption then the students who it disrupts need to be ****ing expelled from the school district, or sent to alternative school because they have no ****ing place to be in civilized ****ing society. Infact they should probably have their ****ing citizenship stripped and kicked the **** out of the country.

You've got to discipline the juveniles.

Yes you do, these little "gangsta" MS13/LatinKings/Mother ****ing low life pieces of **** getting offended by the American Flag need to be ****ing expelled, sent to alternative school, deported, or ****ing shot in the head before they're allowed to procreate and raise more little anti-American traitorous "gangsta" little ****s.

That's actually my point Captain. While the likleyhood that the principle is a liberal is hardly debateable, he in no way embodies or epitomizes the left wing in anyway shape or form....

If you were forced to wager everything you own on what his leaning was at gunpoint, what would you choose? That's all. ;)

Wow! Tell us how you REALLY feel about it Agent Ferris...

Well, so much for assimiliating into our country.

No the school must be able to PROVE that it "materially and substantially interfere with the requirements of appropriate discipline in the operation of the school" (Tinker V. Des Moines)

Are you under the impression that your point contradicted mine in some way?

The idea that the American flag could possibly cause substantial material interference with discipline would only prove one thing and that this school and the students offended by the flag are beyond help and it needs to be shut down and the aforementioned students expelled from the school district or sent to alternative school.

:doh I seriously don't know why you even bother to post.

If the American flag offends them so much, perhaps they should move back to mexico.

BTW... "cinco de mayo" is a crock holiday, its only mildy celebrated in the small state of puebla Mexico and at chili's, taco bell, and chevy's fresh mex, so we gringos buy fake mexican food and bottom shelf watered down margarhitas.

You are painting this incident completely dishonestly in order to express your "outrage".
This incident wasn't simply about students wearing "american flag" shirts and bandanas and others being "offended" by it. If it were, I would agree with you as well.

This was about some students purposefully seeking to create a disturbance in the school.

Don't kid yourself Rev and those who have bought into your "righteous" indignation. This isn't a situation in which people should be outraged by students not being allowed to wear the American flag as clothing. The students actions here were not "innocent". The school took the actions it did because the students were seeking to create a disturbance, nothing more nothing less.

If you want to celebrate cinco de mayo it would make sense for the Mexicans living in Mexico to but not here in the states.

Would you similarly agree that we shouldn't celebrate St. Patrick's day either?
Or does your selective outrage only apply to celebrations involving brown skin?
