Arab group threatens Belgium with terror attacks

Lalibre.be - Un groupe arabe menace la Belgique d'attentats (Vidéo)

An internet movie coming from an Arab group warns Belgium of terror attaks.

The movie shows taliban fighters threatening to commit terror attacks on Belgium because of a ban on burqa that has been voted last week, according to VTM

I think it's one more reason to ban any symbol of islamist proselytism. The appropriate answer is not to be scared, it's to go even further and ban any religious symbol from schools or from the administration.

here is the movie

So they "warn the Belgian government"...well bad news for them, we don't have any government.

Class religious fanatics. "Agree with me or I'll hurt you"

How could anyone stay mad at Belgium? :(

It is the homeland of my favorite fruity private detective, Hercule Poirot, plus they have never attacked the USA, I think....

Hey, even Islamists hiding in a cave can find Belgium on a map.
Most Americans can't.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Sadly true, however... Spanish Netherlands cum Austrian Netherlands cum Belgium ... and most Americans wouldn't know any of them from anything else on a map of Europe..

Serves Belgium right. How dare you not cater to Middle Eastern prescription.

Bring it!..................

No, I guess it's a group like Al Quaeda (who are Arab, aren't they?) or the journalist confused "arab" with "muslim"

Al-Queda is of Arabic origin. More specifically they are made up of Sunni or Sunni loyalists. As was the Tali-ban. As was Saddam Hussein. As is the House of Saud. As is Bashir in Sudan. As is the Baathist Party in Syria. As was the orchestrators of Black September. Etc.

Today's larger terrorist problem are 95% from the Sunni camp. Not since Khomeini (unless you count Hezbollah) can the Shia be targetted as the source of terror tactics.

Not that I support such hate messages, but the burkha ban was a stupid idea in the first place. I mean, no matter what law you make that marginally constrains fundamentalist Islam, they are going to get angry and make threats. But seriously, at least make it a law that matters.

The fudementalists can stick their religion in their ear. The law of the land prevails... even over fundementalist islamic lunatics.

Maybe it was not the essential law that was absolutely needed, but the number of women wearing burqas is growing (there were none a few years ago, today they are around 250 in Brussels and in Liège) and there are good arguments to stop this process:

You forgot Jesh al Mehdi

Or are we going to consider them insurgents and not terrorists?

I think most of the people pushing for the burkha ban have never stopped to talk to a woman who wears a burkha, or tried to understand why they would wear one.

How would you know you were talking to a woman....?

I hope they understand why they wont be able to get a job looking like that and why others may not feel the need to pay for their welfare checks.

I don't support a ban but you're right in the sense that I never talked to a woman who wears a burkha, and I probably never will. Never would I give them the false illusion of respect.

When it comes to entering government offices that is a different story. In terms of just walking around in public, why would the government legislate away their right to wear what they want?

You would automatically disrespect someone just because of how they choose to dress? You sound lower than they do.

Common mistake. Fancy a camel? Low milage, hardly used, one previous very careful owner.......

Don't tell me..... He only rode her on Sunday....

Has nice humps, right?

Could it be about how easy it is to conceal a weapon or explosives under a Burka?

Could it be how hard it is to identify someone in a Burka?

What part of that was unclear?

Ow really, how low are they then? Hilarious!

Yeah, because they would really strap a bomb to someone who is already drawing attention from every bigoted person in sight.

Well there is also a "ban on walking naked", since being naked in a public space is also considered as shocking. Same for the burqa.
