Immigrant Families Leave Arizona, Fearing Law

Apparently the law is having its intended effect.

Go Arizona! Hopefully more states will follow suit.

I like the way CBS news calls them 'immigrants', not 'illegal immigrants'.

True.

And I don't get the feeling they are trying to 'immigrate' anyway. They're more like invaders than immigrants. They come here and want to tell US what to do, instead of blending in, following he proper procedures, and learning what it is to be American.

Of course they don't want them - who TF is going to do back-breaking labor for $5/hour, when the cushy banker jobs in suits and in air-conditioned offices pay 10 times more? The reality is that the 2 should be reversed, where the hard-to-fill, more strenuous jobs pay more than the cushy office jobs, that's the way a market economy is supposed to work.

who TF is going to do back-breaking labor for $5/hour, when welfare with tax credits pays more than that and you don't have to get off you butt?

I think it more accurate.

I like the way CBS news calls them 'immigrants', not 'illegal immigrants'. Then they proceed to share the story of a family with 10, yes 10, children (all American citizens, naturally). They tug at our heart strings. Who could not sympathize with this honorable family?

They are currently unemployed.Sooooo, how are they supporting these 10 children that they so happily had? How much U.S. taxpayer money has gone to assist them in raising them? How many American middle class citizens deferred childbearing in order to pay the taxes to support this illegal immigrant family, that lives hand to mouth, never worrying about having another child?

this is unfortunate. i would prefer to see an amnesty of some sort for EMPLOYED illegals.

I do wonder why people even consider them invaders seriously they are immigrants even thought they didn't do it properly. You have to live in the states for 5 years, before you can get a application for US citizenship. For any more information Immigration Direct

They are ILLEGAL immigrants.

Good, now all the out of work Arizonians can get jobs mowing lawns, cleaning houses, picking fruit and washing dishes.

Or we'll watch AZ scramble to try to find someone to do these minimum wage jobs and the economy will suffer.

We'll see.....

More likely you will watch AZ balance the state budget because the drain of the illegals will be gone.
Maybe we won't have to raise taxes to support our schools when we are not spending a billion a year on illegals.

EMPLOYED illegals.

Think about that phrase for just a moment.

How many "employed illegals" are living in Canada? Russia? England? Mexico, for that matter?

So you support rewarding people who break the law.

They are ILLEGAL immigrants.

But immigrants sounds so much less RACIST than using that illegal word. Accuracy is overrated don't you think?

Did I say they weren't illegal? I was pointing out that Erod called them invaders not Illegal immigrants, so I said I think they are immigrants even thought they didn't do it properly.

Immigrant is general used to describe those who come here legally, not those who basically invade in our country/trespassed and there is nothing racist sounding about the word illegals. Pro-illegals usually use the word "immigrant" to hide the fact that individual is here illegally.

I am not pro illegal, I was just pointing out what I thought was the correct term.

No citizen is going to do back breaking labor for five bucks an hour, which is why you raise the wages to something people are willing to do that back breaking labor for.

Forgiving them, yes.

Forgiving them is giving them a chance to leave before they're put in prison, or sending them back off to their home country rather than imprisoning them.

Making them a citizen, with all the rights there of, is not forgiving...that's rewarding. That's giving them something they didn't have.

Why amnesty when states can enact and enforce anti-illegal immigration laws on the state level? If sanctuary states don't change then all the illegals will flood to those states. It would be amusing to see how California and Newyork do with most of the 12-20 million plus illegals, especially seeing how the cost of living in those states is absurdly high.

What's interesting is, this woman with 10 kids can go on TV to gain sympathy for herself and her 10 kids, and still not be deported. That shows how afraid of the authorities she is.

No, forgiving them for entering illegally by giving them a visa and allowing them to stay and work. They can work their way to green card and citizenship like the rest of the immigrants.

"Immigrant" is the term pro-illegals use for illegals. They do that to deliberately lump those who invaded/trespassed with those who are here legally. It would be no different than lumping all Europeans and Eurotrash together just by simply calling them Eurotrash or by lumping a drunk guy who pissed in the park bushes together with a guy who molested children by calling them both sex offenders. They make up lies that illegal aliens or illegals or sometimes even illegal immigrants is either racist or offensive.

Can anyone get a Visa at any time or is there a waiting list and process?

If its the former, then sure, that's forgiving.

If its the latter, then nope...again...you're rewarding their breaking of the law by allowing them to skip the process and the line ahead of others doing it the right way.

Isn't that like letting a shoplifter keep a walkman that he shoplifted? You are basically suggesting that trespassers/invaders should be rewarded by being allowed to stay in this country. Maybe next you will suggest we forgive bank robbers by letting them keep the loot they stole.

Their is a waiting time, and no they can't get a visa at any time they can however be denied a visa anytime. Some people may apply for a visa about 5- 20 times in one year to get a visa. Whit the Visa cards been up to $236.00 most people in Mexico can't even afford that. TO get the green card it will take years to get, or months. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=d5663a4107083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=d5663a4107083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

This is why I think that we need to make a little bit more easier for them to get a green card

Initiate "workfare"....so American citizens won''t get money unless they show up for work....
