Its nice to see the SECDEF taking into considerations the feelings of the people who DADT affects and not a few militant gays and a bunch of "Feel Good Liberals" who it does not affect at all........

Thank you Mr Gates......

Gates to Congress: Hold off on DADT

“I strongly oppose any legislation that seeks to change this policy prior to the completion of this vital assessment process,” Gates said in a letter sent Friday to Rep. Ike Skelton (D-Mo.), the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. “I hope Congress will not do so, as it would send a very damaging message to our men and women in uniform that in essence their views, concerns and perspectives do not matter on an issue with such a direct impact and consequence for them and their families.”

obama abuses his base

he made dadt a centerpiece of his sotu

then, completely in character, he DROPPED it

how are jose and jimena gonna feel when they hear:

Obama doubts 'will' for immigration - Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com

a lot like antoine, i expect

obama's support amongst youth and african americans was down gigantically in virginia and jersey

2009 exit polls - First Read - msnbc.com

it's cuzza stuff like this

he takes folks for granted

he's the most incompetent politician at the national level america has ever seen

So, Obama agrees with something you agree with and you attack him because he let down his base?

Err, I thought this was the plan already? He's asking congress to do something they're already doing.

you have no idea what i do and don't agree with

he's an incompetent politician

argue with that

why would you be more interested in ME than HIM?

LOL!

I support Robert Gates. Let the Pentagon confirm that most people in the military don't mind serving with gays. That'll give those who want to repeal DADT more legitimacy.

It's going to happen, and it's probably going to happen next year. DADT is history, and about time.

We shall see, not looking as good for your side as it once did.....Looks like Gates is showing his true feelings and coming to his senses with the rest of the join chiefs.........

He's letting the Pentagon finish their investigations. How does that not look good for those who want to repeal DADT? All that will happen from those investigations is show how most military personnel don't care about sexual orientation. If anything this helps those who want to repeal DADT.

I just don't think that any investigation except an independant one can be trusted. There's too much politics shrouded around this. The outcome seems like it can be changed to whatever it needs to be at the end of the day.

He is saying the same thing he has been saying Navy. Read the article you linked. The plan has been to do a study this year, change the law next. He is simply reacting to a few who are looking to jump the gun. Facts are good.

Those that want DADT repealed don't want to wait.......Did you see what Gates said about the men and families it actually affects..........Not good for your side..........

First time he actuallly spoke of the people it affected and not people like you whom it does not affect at all but it just makes you feel good................

Navy, he has not said anything he has not said before. He is still presenting Obama's policy.

Can you read this:

When he was in front of congress he never said those things,,Your in big trouble Redress in your war against the good guys............:)

Spin Navy, spin. He does not want the bill passed until the process has run it's course. This is no change. That is all he is saying. Trying to read something into those words that is not there is not going to do you one bit of good.

Another day....another anti-gay Navy Pride post.....:doh
