Yeah, they teach it correctly where I'm from. I'm not sure what they do where you come from, though. :2razz:
First, if we make racism in Alabama = X and racism in Maryland = Y We get:
Y = 3X
If X = 1, then Y = 3.
So if we break it down to racism
per year in each location, we get:
Alabama = 1/3 (or about 0.33 racism units per year)
Maryland = 3/13 (or about 0.23 racism units per year)
0.23 < 0.33 so Alabama would be "slightly more racist" as I said.
Doing the same for Arizona (This time racism in Arizona = X):
We still have Y = 3X which means that if X = 1, Y = 3
Racism per year:
Maryland is still 3/13 or 0.23
Arizona is 1/25 or .04
.23/0.04 = 5.75 or as I put it "It would also mean that Arizona would be about 6 times
less racist than Maryland."
More importantly, I was having fun with your made-up numbers.
