Memoir by George W Bush to be published in November

how about obama's book, he got the title for the second from his gd reverend from the church of chickens roosting
In other words, you disagree that the USA has done a lot of things outside of US borders that people in other countries would consider to be bad for some countries but good for the USA? Like over throwing the Iranian government or supporting the Northern alliance, as examples.

y'know, the spiritual mentor he said he could no more disavow than he could his own racist white gramma

that is, just weeks before cutting off at the knees the man who married him to michelle and baptized his children
That wouldn't have anything to do with things he was saying AFTER he expressed that first sentiment, could it?

What is wrong about that characterization? At least it is actually based on some facts...
Look up the definition of "specious". :2wave:

Actually, if a libertarian defends Bush they are, by definition, not a libertarian.
Actually, by definition, none of the "libertarians" who thanked you are actually libertarian. Real libertarians are not in favor of capitalism and are closer to Anarchists than republicans. So don't let Americanized versions of words confuse you.

I highly doubt this is true. I am an avid reader and also a full time student and can't manage to finish more than 3-4 four good sized books a month. I can't imagine running a country and reading close to 8 books a month. He was reading 2 a week? What kind of books...?
People who aren't dishonest and partisan-ly tied to the Shrub don't believe he was actually in any reading contest with Rove and even fewer believe he could even read that many as you suggest.

I read clintons memoirs, Bush I's, Even Obama's, Reagans, etc. I'll read this one too.

Oh and I wont act like a partisan hack mouth foamer over it either.

Of course you will. That's your MO.

Let's discuss intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, the twisting and distortion of dialog, and childish insults, shall we? Oh, and let's not forget this pot calling the kettle black theme you've got going...

"Liberals are intolerant" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, pot/kettle
"Us adults understand it" = childish insults
"your hatred of opposing viewpoints" = twisting and distortion of dialog, pot/kettle

"contemporary liberals are intolerant by definition" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, pot/kettle
"partisan Obamaphiles" = childish insults

"shrill morons" = character assassination, childish insults, twisting and distortion of dialog
"acting childishly and idiotically" = intellectual dishonesty, twisting and distortion of dialog

"disconnected from America" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination
"self-imposed bubble of elitism and intolerance" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle

"confused" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults
"intolerant" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle

"intolerant" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
"derisive and dismissive of opposing viewpoints" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle

"conformist" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
"ideologues" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
"follow the Democratic elites and academic leftists lockstep" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
intolerance" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
"ideological rigidity" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
"intellectual contradictions and hypocrisy" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, pot/kettle
"character assassination and childish insults as a substitute for substance-based criticisms" = intellectual dishonesty, character assassination, childish insults, twisting and distortion of dialog, pot/kettle

"Quasi-Marxist statism" = intellectual dishonesty, twisting and distortion of dialog
"coercive populism" = intellectual dishonesty, twisting and distortion of dialog
"elites" = intellectual dishonesty, twisting and distortion of dialog, pot/kettle

Perhaps if your criticisms were substance-based, we'd be less inclined to point out your childish hatred of opposing viewpoints.

Factual statements all. That you refuse to admit as much is of little consequence to me.

You have wedded yourself to an ideology that is at odds with our Constitution and founding principles, which means you have no other choice but to engage in childish antics with no substance. It's why you and your ilk have to constantly deride George Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, etc. as fools, corrupt, incompetent, criminal, etc. If you actually had an ounce of honesty and intellectual integrity in your body, you might have to admit that Bush et. al. weren't nearly as bad as you think, and that Barack Obama et. al. aren't nearly as good as you think. You might even have to reexamine your allegiance to Democratic party, and lord knows that ain't going to happen...

In other words, you disagree that the USA has done a lot of things outside of US borders that people in other countries would consider to be bad for some countries but good for the USA?

hey, obama's the guy who threw his SPIRITUAL MENTOR under the bus, not me

I had no problems reading a couple of "good sized" books a week while going to college full time and working part time.
Yeah well you must not be very smart then because I read 8 or 9 books a day while reading and studying the required materials to pass classes...

Or maybe you're just one of those speed readers who make up a fraction of a percent of college graduates who did nothing but sit in their dorm for 4 years and read and study. No dating or partying, no nothing but reading... If not, then you're full of as much **** as the other people who make such claims.

Or you could mean "good sized" as in less than 300 pages. Even that would be a stretch since the average adult only reads about 2 words per second.

What difference does it make how many damn books Bush read or didn't read? Or how big they were? How is this story even "breaking news"!?

President to release memoirs!!! Historical first!!! Read all about it!!!

So lame and childish...

and personal

LOL!

Imagine that. Writing a memoir AFTER your presidency.

Obama wrote his first one after finishing third grade.

So they say.
It seems to be the homework of a certain William Ayers.

There isn't much beyond two ghost-writes to Obama's name.
For such a scholar he left a paper trail as lame as his voting record in the Illinois senate.

William Ayers... Couldn't have been the domestic terrorist of the same name could it?
Nah.
Obama would never have sympathies to radicals.

Would he?

.

It was initially a press release through the Bush administration in, I want to say 2007 or 2008 (if this was the first attempt to do so). It was largely seen as either a fluff piece or a fluff piece meant to rebuke liberal complaints of his lack of intellectuality or reading habits.

How would you know? I could actually get into either school without being the grandson of Prescott. Face it, if his name were Bob Smith he's be a grocery bagger. And likely a bad one at that.

And you think he got in AND graduated because of who his grandfather was?

The denial and willful blindness of the far-righties has reared its ugly head.

W. was a colossal failure. Owning up to that is the first step to fielding qualified candidates in 2012.

Did I ever say I was a fan of Bush? I am merely pointing out the double-standards of the left...

It is ok to say Bushie and Shrub, but if I start calling the current president by his REAL middle name, watch out...

Hussein, there I said it. And no WMDs went off:lol:

Remember, say something loudly and think about it later. ;)

Feel free to provide documentation wherein I have "constantly derided George Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, etc. as fools, corrupt, incompetent, criminal, etc."

Please. I'm all ears.

Oh, I wouldn't dream of going first. Please; I invite you to start with the honesty and intellectual integrity.

You might even have to reexamine your allegiance to Democratic party, and lord knows that ain't going to happen...

I have no allegiance to the Democratic party. I've voted all over the ticket, it just happens that the majority of my political leanings agree with general Democratic tenets. Of course, don't let the fact that I'm a fervent supporter of the death penalty and violent criminals serving hard (by hard, I mean %$#@! HARD) time throw you off your game of galaxy-wide generalizations and hypocritical demonization.

After all, you're on quite a troll.

My father was a carpenter. Do you think that would "hurt" if I was academicly capable AND had the interest to attend Yale University?

It depends, did your dad also attended Yale being a legacy certainly doesn't hurt. Also being politically connected certainly doesn't nor does the fact Prescott at one time was a Senator from Connecticut (where Yale happens to be located) hurt.
