BBC News - Russia scientist fears arrest over Olympic warnings
.
Dr Sergei Volkov, the whistle blower is in hiding in southern Ukraine because he fears being detained by Russian authorities on trumped-up criminal charges. He sent his letter after a storm destroyed a new cargo port being built in Sochi for the Olympics.
Volkov main worry is not for the environment sp that gives him credibility. He fears the builders are cutting a swathe through the valley up towards the mountains without taking into account how unstable the area is geologically.
I never thought the the Russians could pull off a sucessful Olympics since their management and building tecniques are no more advanced then they were under Soviet rule.
What do you guys think should the Olympic committee give the Olympics to a good country who can get the job done or should they risk the lives of the world's Olympians ?
