Those jobs would be worth more than minimum wage if illegals were not taking them. Supply and demand also applies to the labor market. Seems kind of funny when people thinks it doesn't.
This is simply wishful thinking. Minimum wage jobs are essential to the existence of a society and there is always a segment population ready to take those jobs regardless of how little they pay except of course in America, because here feel their lack of education entitles them to $12 for flipping burgers. Canada which does not have the issue regarding illegal immigration that we do, has a huge block of its population working minimum wage jobs. No. You do not understand that the job market doesn't work the way you think it does.
By your logic slavery, under age workers and sweat shops is the evidence of the right wing's beloved market taking course and that we should accept it.
This is why you shouldn't try logic james. Here I'll dissect my 'logic' for you:
If anything illegal immigrants are evidence of the right wing's beloved market taking its course.
What did I say? I said illegal immigrants are proof of the market taking its course. There is a population which refuses to flip burgers, cut gardens and sell oranges for minimum wage or less. So another population has taken over the jobs.
Slavery was the only logical response to a non-existent working force and thus why it was acceptable at the time. Blacks were brought over to do a job which there wasn't a working force to do. Later on they kept coming as whites living in an industrializing society thought they were too good do work in fields. After a while, it no longer became logical to have slavery. Notice how as blacks became an ever shrinking minority, slavery was abolished in more and more states.
The story hasn't changed. Only now it's not about race. It is about a false sense of entitlement. People in this country feel not having a high school diploma means you should still get paid $12. Welcome to the 21st century. We now hire people with educations. Congratulations in making this about race though. You have successfully managed to Blackwin the thread. What that has to do with acceptance is beyond me. Why don't you learn to logically read a thread before you talk about logic?
Are you saying if someone offered you more money to do the same job that you do now you wouldn't take it or think that you deserved it?
No. If somebody offered me more money for a job I actually had to go to school for, I'd take it. If somebody offered me more money for a job where my training could not be finished after 2 weeks, I would take it. I wouldn't demand $15 for flipping burgers or cleaning up somebody's garden.
