White Supremacists, Demonstrators square off in L.A.

Those jobs would be worth more than minimum wage if illegals were not taking them. Supply and demand also applies to the labor market. Seems kind of funny when people thinks it doesn't.

This is simply wishful thinking. Minimum wage jobs are essential to the existence of a society and there is always a segment population ready to take those jobs regardless of how little they pay except of course in America, because here feel their lack of education entitles them to $12 for flipping burgers. Canada which does not have the issue regarding illegal immigration that we do, has a huge block of its population working minimum wage jobs. No. You do not understand that the job market doesn't work the way you think it does.

By your logic slavery, under age workers and sweat shops is the evidence of the right wing's beloved market taking course and that we should accept it.

This is why you shouldn't try logic james. Here I'll dissect my 'logic' for you:

If anything illegal immigrants are evidence of the right wing's beloved market taking its course.

What did I say? I said illegal immigrants are proof of the market taking its course. There is a population which refuses to flip burgers, cut gardens and sell oranges for minimum wage or less. So another population has taken over the jobs.

Slavery was the only logical response to a non-existent working force and thus why it was acceptable at the time. Blacks were brought over to do a job which there wasn't a working force to do. Later on they kept coming as whites living in an industrializing society thought they were too good do work in fields. After a while, it no longer became logical to have slavery. Notice how as blacks became an ever shrinking minority, slavery was abolished in more and more states.

The story hasn't changed. Only now it's not about race. It is about a false sense of entitlement. People in this country feel not having a high school diploma means you should still get paid $12. Welcome to the 21st century. We now hire people with educations. Congratulations in making this about race though. You have successfully managed to Blackwin the thread. What that has to do with acceptance is beyond me. Why don't you learn to logically read a thread before you talk about logic?

Are you saying if someone offered you more money to do the same job that you do now you wouldn't take it or think that you deserved it?

No. If somebody offered me more money for a job I actually had to go to school for, I'd take it. If somebody offered me more money for a job where my training could not be finished after 2 weeks, I would take it. I wouldn't demand $15 for flipping burgers or cleaning up somebody's garden.

Never understood why the dregs of the white race tend to be the white "Supremacists"
Kind of like the black supremacists Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

I don't know. Maybe it is a big Irish Pride Day here in Boston and where you live it is more of a drinking day. I am not denying that it isn't a big drinking day up here because it most certainly is. But people drink to celebrate their Irishness (sp?). It is the only day where everyone in the city can call themselves Irish whether they really are or not.

I think if 'you' study the history of St Patrick's Day celbrations here in the US is that is was an Irish Pride and identity parade and it started back in a time when there were still signs saying "Irish need not apply". Hense there was an element of protest there also. Let's be serious the Irish were the first large immigrant group after the ENGLISH-SCOTTS-WELCH who came here voluntarily therefore resentment and distrust by the 'real' American and 'true; patriots was high. ;)

Tell us all about how you're going to get that IT job the illegals stole from you jamesrage? Maybe you flip burgers for a living? What about gardening? Which jobs would you do that illegals do en masse? Maybe you'd house keep for minimum wage? Would you pick fruit all day for minimum wage? If anything illegal immigrants are evidence of the right wing's beloved market taking its course. They do the job people in this country feel like they should be paid more to do.

If you look at the dynamics of the labor market you will find that yes indeed illegals do reduce the wage rate in the lower paying jobs. Yet do be honest so do legal immigrants. As I noted in other posts I am an immigrant but came here when I was about 2. I recall a woman leaving a "church" ( a Baptist type church ) near my home then and I was riding a bike still with training wheels and this was holding a Bible and she started screeming at me t" you PD's come here to take our money and jobs and rents you like YANKEE DOLLORS but you hate Yankees". I remember riding ome and asking my Mom was a DP was ( Displaced PERSON). The hatred for all immigranst has been around for years. My Dad was working as a janitor and goin to night school at that time so I do not think that he took a real reat job away from this BAPTIST Bitch who hated a little kid who was an immigrant who she did not even know. Even to today I do not trust BAPTISTS!!!

I was under the impression that Saint Patrick's day was celebrated because he brought Catholicism to the pagans(although that seems kind ironic seeing how Catholics are pagans) in Ireland in which the rest of the world now sees as a national drinking holiday, not because of Irish identity.

:damn

Yep, just keep spreading the hate. You sound like the KKK with a line like that...

Spoken like a true denier of the facts.

I would take this teacher's story more seriously if he'd provided actually quotes from the curriculum and/or footnotes, as any thoughtful academic would know to do. It sounds like someone who got butt hurt because he was usurped in his own classroom. Teachers can be huge egomaniacs.

Oh yes thats all illegals do is sell oranges on the side of the ****ing road.

And dig our ditches.
And manage our sewers.
And clean rich bastards homes.
And work the agriculture jobs.
And take your garbage to the dump.
And paint your house.
And do your yard work.
And clean public bathrooms.
And help people move furniture.
And do laundry for the hotels.
And help build our roads.
And fix holes in our roofs.

In other words, they do the jobs that Americans don't want to take. You should be saying thank you.

So you have no evidence to doubt him but you do so anyway.

Classic.

I just find it absurd that people who pray to/venerate saints can call themselves Christians, most Christians share this view. It has nothing to do with hatred but everything to do with Exodus 20:3-4/Deuteronomy 5:7-8. If you notice I do not jump on the bash the catholic church bandwagon every time some phony Catholic politician gets called out by his priest.

In all that, you give two sources.

2 more than you provided.

One is some little anti-immigration group in Colorodo, the other is Michelle Malkin, who passes along an anecdote and manages to repeatedly misname La Raza(Which the organization itself uses to mean "The community" or "The People").

Oh please. La Raza means the race. Not the commuinity. Don't read the definition from LA Raza's website, look it up for yourself.

Main Entry: raza
Function: feminine noun
Language: Spanish

1 : race <raza humana : human race>
2 : breed, strain
3 de raza : thoroughbred, pedigreed

Raza - Definition and More from Merriam-Webster's Free Spanish-English Dictionary

You also make a number of other factually incorrect statements. La Raza, while primarily a hispanic organization, does not limit itself in any way to "aztec's", and in fact some of their programs benefit whites.

NAME THEM.

You can't just make statements like that without factual backing.

They do not support open immigration from the south, and in fact have backed and help with legislation that strengthened border enforcement.

Completely False and I challenge you to find any law they support that calls for enforcement of immigration law towards illegals.

I can find no evidence to back your claim of them flying one flag. The closest is a comment from Lou Dobbs, which involves student rallies where some of the students waved the Mexican flag.

I gave you the link. Did you not click on it?

Source for my facts: National Council of La Raza: Viewpoints

Specific links at bottom of page.

Cite them specifically. Don't just throw out a link and expect people to find what you are trying to prove.

You attacked my sources then you link to La Raza's home page as your "evidence"??

The very definition of Irony. :rofl

To be fair, non-Hispanics/non-illegals take those jobs, too. I've personally cleaned house for many people, cleaned bathrooms (thousands, literally), and done load after load of hotel laundry. And there are plenty of towns and cities that don't have large Hispanic populations, where these jobs are done by all races and ethnicities.

Sorry, but I've never fully bought this argument.

To understand their position you have to ignore the immigration law.

Once you do that, its easy.

2 more than you provided.

Actually, I provided a source, with links to several factual(not opinion) sources that outnumber your 2 op-eds.

Or we could go to wiki: [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_raza]La Raza - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

wiki said:
In the Spanish language the term La Raza literally means "the race" or generally and symbolically "the people." Its meaning varies amongst various Spanish-speaking peoples. In Spain, "Raza" may denote specifically Spanish and often of a something or someone of an European Christian heritage. The Francoist film Raza, from 1944, which celebrates ideally Spanish qualities, is an example of this usage. In Latin America, depending on the location, it may primarily emphasize Spanish and European heritage, such as the name Dia de la Raza to mark the arrival of Christopher Columbus to America. In other Latin American contexts, it is used more expansively to describe the race formed by the fusion of White people, Native American and African peoples in America.

In the United States, "La Raza" is sometimes used to denote people of Chicano and Mexican descent as well as other Latin American mestizos who share Native American heritage. The term is rarely inclusive of entirely European or African descended Hispanic peoples.

Damn, that really makes you look bad. A full definition, which goes hand in hand with what the people who named themselves that claim to use it to mean. So, I could believe you, or the people who actually use it. Wonder who is more likely to be right...

NAME THEM.

You can't just make statements like that without factual backing.

Why not, you did and do.

Of course, I can back my claims, using the sourcing I provided. National Council of La Raza: Solely Hispanic-serving Programs

For example, in 2006, as part of NCLR’s homeownership program, NCLR Affiliates served about 29,000 clients. Almost 20% were White and approximately 12% were Black.

That sounds like such a racist bunch.

Completely False and I challenge you to find any law they support that calls for enforcement of immigration law towards illegals.

National Council of La Raza: NCLR APPLAUDS INTRODUCTION OF BIPARTISAN COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM BILL

press release said:
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., welcomed the introduction of the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act. These comprehensive immigration reform bills, introduced by Senators Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and John McCain (R-AZ) and by Reps. Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), would allow for the orderly and legal immigration of needed workers, reunite American families, provide for stronger enforcement of labor and immigration laws, and make our nation more secure.

When you get done blustering and moving the goalposts, I do have more waiting.

I gave you the link. Did you not click on it?

Not on a post I saw. I can find no backing evidence on any search I have tried. SO feel free to show some evidence your claim is true. You have totally failed so far,

Cite them specifically. Don't just throw out a link and expect people to find what you are trying to prove.

You attacked my sources then you link to La Raza's home page as your "evidence"??

The very definition of Irony. :rofl

It is better to find out what an organization actually is from them, not from people trying to spin what they are. You are welcome to show where anything on their website is factually incorrect. It is certainly more likely to be correct than some anecdote posted by Michelle Malkin, or some Colorado anti-immigration group.

Wrong. Illegals do not do those things where I live and I am pretty sure illegals do not do things in many parts of the US as well. Only in Sanctuary states and cities illegals do those things. As for housework, lawn maintenance, furniture moving, roof repair and many other things many Americans do those things themselves. Most Americans do not look down on those who do those jobs.

You should be saying thank you.

Why should I thank an illegal for stealing a job from my fellow Americans and causing many of those people to be on public assistance?
Why should I thank an illegal for devaluing my fellow American's jobs and causing many of those people to be on public assistance?
Why should I thank illegals for sending that cash home when it could have been spent here in the US?
Why should I thank an illegal for the additional criminals they bring over that are currently in prison for offenses other than illegal immigration?
Why Should I thank an illegal for the kids he brought over that I have to pay to educate.
Why should I thank an illegal for all the bilingual signs, police officers and ballots to accommodate all the lazy ****s who refuse to learn English?
Why should I thank an illegal for the scumbags that hire them not paying any taxes?

Do you thank a burglar for breaking into your house and stealing your things or a burglar who does the same thing to your neighbor's house? Americans in pro-illegals states could have worked those jobs. So the only thing illegals deserve is a minimum of six months incarceration or two years if second offense and then deported.

You admit to being a Keynesian, yes? Orwell would have raged against you! He detested centralized authority, and Keynesian economics is as statist and militarist as you can get. Learn yourself, sonny!

When did I say I was a keynesian? For getting out of a recession, sure but in general?

While both sides should be allowed to be their, protesting, I only wish that a fw of the Nazi's had gotten angry, violent, and arrested rather then the counter-demonstrators...but that's just me.

Anyone think the Nazi's could be inciting others to riot, and be persecuted as such?

I hate the whole incite to riot thing, I think it's pretty dumb and more often than not, abused. No, I do not think the Nazi's should be charged with incite to riot, they only sat their and spout out the crap we all knew they were going to spout out. Those who riot are responsible for their own behavior.
