Critics Slam Decision to Name Navy Ship for John Murtha

I believe Murtha spoke out so soon because he was so incensed by what those marines did. He saw their actions as the direct result of the lack of leadership and abuse of the troops over there. He was outing Bush's lack of a war plan and Rummy's "dumb as a box of rocks" approach.

All vets should be proud of Murtha standing up against the administration and yelling "the king has no clothes".

Murtha was right when he said it and he's right now. When you read what actually happened, from all the sources, it is clear those marines committed cold blooded murder. Too bad the marines are too insecure to discipline their own bad apples.

Murtha is an x-marine who lied about troops accusing them of murder "guilty of proven innocent".

He is a traitor to the corpse, and all of us vets.... May his rotting corpse rot in hell.

When he lied in under oath to a Congressional commitee.....

Does lying under oath to a Congressional committee (assuming this is true) satisfy the definition of treason? (Hint: no.)

Why the heck anybody would name a ship after Murtha I don't have a clue. Sheeesh the military in general hates the guy.

Just how did this ship get its name?

No because we have been over his lying a dozen times...It has been documented in DP also......He called our troops in Nam Murderers, rapists and baby killers which was a lie under oath.......

Here's his testimony in full.

John Kerry's 1971 Congressional Testimony on National Review Online

Tell me where he tells a lie. Again, remember, a lie is something he personally says is true (not simply repeating someone else's claims) and he knows is not true, and can be objectively shown to be untrue. A lie isn't "something I don't like."

He called our troops in Nam Murderers, rapists and baby killers which was a lie under oath.......

And yet...
Kill anything that moves.

Henry stepped outside the hut and saw a small crowd of women and children. Then the shooting began.

Moments later, the 19 villagers lay dead or dying.
Civilian Killings Went Unpunished - latimes.com

This is just one of hundreds of similar articles.

To say that these atrocities didn't happen in Vietnam, or any war, by Americans is to admit you don't give a **** about the truth.

U.S.S. Abscam would be more appropriate. Or the U.S.S. We Can't Win in Iraq. Or the U.S.S. Marines are Terrorist .... not exactly but something in that vein. Aren't there any other former Vets deserving of homage other than Murtha?

Meh even more stupid than naming it Murtha.

Pat Tillman comes to my mind even though is not a Marine.

The truth is not a lie. A small distinction that escapes many folks with partisan tunnel vision.

He is a traitor to the corpse, and all of us vets.... May his rotting corpse rot in hell.

A traitor to the corpse, ehh?

Obviously, many disagree with your short sighted opinion. Or his name would not be so honored as to have a navy ship named ofter him. Vets I know salute Murtha for his bravery and selflessness in speaking out about such atrocities.

You're always waving your service in everybody's face around here. Why doesn't it matter to you that Marines, in this case, committed cold blooded murder under the protection of our flag? Actions by those marines dishonors all vets, as well as our country. A cover up does the same.

But, call these criminals out and punish them... now that would show true strength and honor and integrity. Something the marine leadership has shown they don't have. So, what impression is Americans, and the world, left with about our military? That they can do whatever they want to do in a war zone and be protected by our military. But, that would take some very deep thinking as opposed to chest thumping. Never mind. :2wave:

And what you and murtha cackle are lies, though fortunatly one of you is rotting in the ground.

I'll bet you a gold donation that I can get far more vets here to call the man the dirtbag he was, than you can get to "salute" him.

And what's brave about falsey accusing Marines of murder? It's disgusting and disgraceful.

Personal attacks? Is this what your reduced to? Of course you are.

Most of the marines were acquitted and found innocent. Stop libeling them. Its a disgrace to that uniform you once wore.

Let me know when you start this "deep thinking" I haven't seen it yet.

Murtha was a traitor to the troops, and we dont respect him. Put that in your bong and smoke it, hero.

On a side note. I love how your all big mouthed and snotty, You do know we have a place where you can cash that check your mouth loves to write, no? :pimpdaddy:

Not to this vet with a good conduct medal;)

Really? Which branch are you in? When did you get the medal? That's the one for 3 years consecutive service no? ;)

I had no idea you were a vet brother!

It's hard to tell the difference with your posts.

I'll bet you a gold donation that I can get far more vets here to call the man the dirtbag he was, than you can get to "salute" him.

Now there's an example of your "scientific method", ehh? :doh

And what's brave about falsey accusing Marines of murder? It's disgusting and disgraceful.

Like I said, never mind. It's too far over your head.

Personal attacks? Is this what your reduced to? Of course you are.

Another instance where deeper thinking is required. I'm sure you take all questions as "personal attacks" when they're simply questions. I guess they weren't simple enough.

Most of the marines were acquitted and found innocent. Stop libeling them. Its a disgrace to that uniform you once wore.

Sure they were. Thanks to their lies and the marine officers cover up attempts. And let's not forget those military trials. Very impressive! Cover ups like this are the reasons we see people like Rove and Cheeney and Bush get away with treason.

Murtha was a traitor to the troops, and we dont respect him. Put that in your bong and smoke it, hero.

I'm pretty sure you don't speak for all, most or many vets. Vets I know have too much honor to their fellow vets to be so blindly unpatriotic.

On a side note. I love how your all big mouthed and snotty, You do know we have a place where you can cash that check your mouth loves to write, no?

What's that, a call to meet at noon in Dodge? You can dish it out behind the skirts of the internet but, you sure can't take it, can you?

You should be careful what you wish for.

Empty jibber-jabber.

Now there's an example of your "scientific method", ehh?

More Jibber-Jabber

Like I said, never mind. It's too far over your head.

Personal attack jibber jabber

Yup, so you know, Murder is a capitol offense under the UCMJ, but what's a few marines exectuted if it helps your partisan hack jibber jabber.

Appeal to authority Jibber Jabber. I'd bet I speak for more of them than you.

Wanna Wrestle? :lamo

Seriously d00d. Get a life, all I'm saying is you have a big mouth for someone who disapears from threads that end up where it can be thrown back in your rude face.

You should be careful what you wish for.

:lol Why is that? You gonna call more troops murderers?

Wanna Wrestle?

I'd love to.

There's a diff between having enough of swatting senseless flies and running away.

Rude? This coming from the 2009 Asshat of the Year? Seriously?

I'd love to.

Oh wait, so you were trying to threaten me... :lamo

I was simply making fun of you I didn't think you were actually going the E-Machismo route....

If you were an honest person, you would know, I took that award when others well..... We can talk about it in that place you are obviously afraid to go. :ssst:

Let's be honest Mutrtha made one sad mistake, but Chenney is a mistake.

What he said on the House Floor that day wasnt a mistake, Murtha knew what he said. He wants to criticize the war, then fine there are much better and constructive ways to do it. Bashing our Marines isnt the way to go.

It is for the libs....... Murtha wasn't the first, or the last.

He did make a mistake. Lots of people jump to conclusions before a verdict or evidence fully comes out. That doesn't make him a traitor for it.

Again, I think he was an asshole for blaming the Marines before a verdict was given, but a traitor? Absolutely not. I also disagree with naming a ship after him, I just think it is in poor taste given the controversy around him for that.

It's also not about John Kerry but, I don't see that stopping you from lying about him.

Everything being said about draft-dodging-coward-cheeney is true. :2wave:

Go back and look who changed the subject........it wasn't me....
