That pretty much makes it worse. She enjoyed popular approval and she still couldn't handle her job.

Oh redress please.......I get so tired of explaining things to you young lady...........I would say that if a governor or a president had a high approval rating it would mean they are doing a good job...............Obama is at 46% so he is doing a terrrible job..........

How does a good approval rating mean she can handle the job? Obviously she can't, since she resigned despite a good approval rating.

Yeah but if she could not handle the job she would not have a good approval rating like Obama who should quit...............I don't know why she quit and neither do you...I know after she quit she had the time to write a book that is a million dollar seller.......

Maybe she wanted to head up the tea parties which she is doing and outstanding job by the way..........Did you see the crowds in the liberal city of Boston today? Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

You honestly do not understand the difference between good and popular? Let me give you a simple example: governor takes office with a big deficit. governor cuts spending. People are unhappy cuz their programs are cut. Budget ends up balanced. Now, is this unpopular governor with a low approval rating a good governor, and can they do the job?

However, Obama is not against gay marriage if it is approved by the voters, legislature or courts. THAT is where your big difference lies.
Obama understands that his opinion is not something that he should force others to live by.
He is also not an avid gay-hater like you are.

So you're saying that Bush did a catastrophically terrible job because his approval rating were even worse than Obama's?

I liked Huckabee from a fiscal perspective, I've watched his show on Fox and seen him on the Daily show and find him smart and pragmatic on many issues... but if he's going to start talking out of his ass on social issues-- then screw him.

What's clear is the Gov Huckabee is catering to the homophobic teabagger far-right base. Sad. Very sad.

Scratch one more GOP candidate I can't take seriously.

But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God. Change the Constitution for Jesus, that was two years ago...early January 2008 I believe. Yep, back during the heart of those "tea bagger" rallies alright. I remember the Jackasses were all up in an uproar over his comments back then so I have to imagine someone posting here new about it. The Jackasses talked about it on and on. I can't believe you can't remember all the Jackasses being their normal belligerent selves and going on about it, only now to realize he's like this so as to insult the "tea baggers".

Though, I mean, I thought many Jackasses didn't mind crazy religious statements made, as long as they were racist and bigoted statements like the Jackasses liked from the likes of the Jackass Reverend Wright and his Jackass protege Obama.

Ahh, its fun acting like a 3 year old and calling groups names based on a an extremely loose literalistic reasoning whose only purpose is to seemingly deride. Actually, no its not...it was kind of painful to even write like that. I'm quite amazed at how skilled you are at continually typing out arguments littered with 11 year old like insults and grade school name calling. I don't think I'd have the stomach to repeatedly do such discourse.

Bush did a terrible job fiscally but if it would have been Kerry it would have been 10 times worse.. I have learned after voting in 13 presidential elections sometimes you vote for the lesser of the 2 evils.........I have actually only voted for the man I wanted to win 3 times out of that 13.....can you guess who the 3 were? Its a trick question.........

I know that the topic of this thread is Huckabee's statements about gay marriage, but since we are talking about Huckabee, I need to bring up the most important reason he scares the bejesus out of me.

I was actually considering supporting him for a short time, although at the time, I did not know his position that the government should regulate gays. I would have been against him for that reason, had I found out. I guess I should have taken a harder look at him - My bad. However, a week later, he made the statement that we should change the Constitution for Jesus. That, for me, was the straw that broke the camel's back. Anyone who would advocate changing the Constitution for Jesus, and change America into a theocracy, is anti-American by its very definition. The Constitution for Americans is equivalent to the Bible for Christians.

We can argue all day about whether or not America is a Christian nation, and there are, of course, 2 sides to that argument. But there can only be ONE side when it comes to supporting the Constitution of the United States of America. Those who don't are clearly anti-American. My support for Huckabee ended the very minute he uttered those anti-American words.

Its just how people on the left can take 2 situations like Hillary and Palin and defend one and criticize the other.....You say Hillary quit to run for president........I say that Palin quit to become one of the leaders of the tea party and it would be hard for her to do that as Governor......
