Gay Marriage Fails to get on California Ballot

Sure, just as long as YOU pay for things that I don't like such as the funding personnel for the Patriot Act and HLS as well as funding the Iraq War. When you STEP UP to do THAT, let us know.

Until then, deal with the REALITY that you will have to pay for things you either don't approve or or use yourself and that will include marriages.

I'll respond to your posts if I like, if you don't like it, tough ****. I enjoy schooling you over and over again like I just did and will continue doing so.

The fact is you want others to pay for things you want, but don't want to pay for things you don't like. Doesn't work that way.

In the state of Washington we Domestic PartnerRelationship law and it covers gays and older straight relatives who want be a part of it for the benefits it provvides......

I was referring to the federal benefits, which is pretty much the point. A father is a daughter's father no matter which state the father and daughter live in. Currently, that is not the case with same-sex marriages. That is not right. Even Domestic Partnerships must be recognized by each state that has such laws. In other words, the couple must register for a Domestic Partnership in each state that it is available when they want to live in that state.

I could really give a rats ass about what the majority thinks about the civil rights of a minority.

If you don't mind my playing devil's advocate here, let me ask you something:

Are you aware that our forefathers wrote extensively about "the tyranny of the majority"? And history proved them right. For example, blacks were lynched in the South for no other crime than wanting to vote. Preventing blacks from voting was a majority opinion in the South at that time. Do you think they were right, and "screw the minority"?

Just because the majority is in favor of something does not make it right. This is one of the reasons that we are a representative democracy, and not a direct democracy.

So, in light of what I just wrote, what do you REALLY think about this issue, not in terms of "since the majority supports it, then crew the minority", but as to the right vs. wrong in the issue itself?
