But extremist's ideology comes from right and left, like ELF. Of course liberals would never claim them, but their political bent comes from the left. The nut in the OP didn't like health care reform. Now from which side of the political spectrum would he most likely come from?
The thing is, to actively denounce them. I notice a reluctance in some quarters of the right, to do that. Why won't the Tea Party folks denounce the racists and loons that attend their events?
Even here, someone has posted they would like to see Pelosi returned to the "ecology". When folks from the conservative side of the spectrum won't denounce the loons, it leads us to believe they condone the behavior and thus are welcome in their ranks.
I feel that a movement or party that accepts the support of an extremist group anad welcomes them to their rallies if that group is over the edge and or advocates violence or some extreme policy such a racism then they would be smart to distance themselfs from such whackjibs or denounce them. A failure to do so will paint that movement or party with the stench of the extremists.
This happened to the anti-war movement in th sixties when Communists and Socialists joined in "support" of the anti-war movemnet and the anti-war movement did not disown them.
