Could it be anymore backwards folks?

You got leftists claiming people can't afford to pay medical bills at $10 to $20 a month in order to pay them off, but we expect young people to afford ever increasing insurance premiums?

Does anything the left do, add up to what they say it does?

Health premiums could rise 17 pct for young adults

CHICAGO — Under the health care overhaul, young adults who buy their own insurance will carry a heavier burden of the medical costs of older Americans — a shift expected to raise insurance premiums for young people when the plan takes full effect.

Beginning in 2014, most Americans will be required to buy insurance or pay a tax penalty. That's when premiums for young adults seeking coverage on the individual market would likely climb by 17 percent on average, or roughly $42 a month, according to an analysis of the plan conducted for The Associated Press. The analysis did not factor in tax credits to help offset the increase....

You have to target the portion of the population that you can fleece for the longest period of time......;)

This wouldn't have happened if we had had one of the most ingenious systems of price control out there, the public option.

But no, you guys were all afraid that we were going to kill your grandparents and unborn children while forcing you to go to labor camps.

say goodbye to the youth vote

it already showed serious signs of sap in virginia, jersey and chappaquiddick's state

he's already lost seniors and independents

do you know the class act?

this argument is SIX MONTHS OLD, the impact OBAMACARE would have on the "young invulnerables"

the point---YOU KNEW (or, you were SUPPOSED to know) all THIS CRAP was IN this pig

YOU are responsible for this

and YOU will pay for JUNIOR's having to PAY

gallup has obama at an all time low today

he was sposed to get a BOUNCE

LOL!

no wonder he has to go to MAINE to try to CHANGE MINDS...

pathetic

Old people don't work anymore. The young do.

Also I must say, this isn't really that big of news, Health Premiums are always rising by a ridiculous amount, I wouldn't be suprised if this was actually good news.

Either you will pay higher premiums OR if you're a student and on your parents plan (like me) you will pay higher interest for more restrictive loans  I honestly don't see why so many people my age like Obama :doh

Looked it up, a 17% increase over 4 years will be an IMPROVEMENT over the double digit increases we have seen EACH YEAR over the last decade.

So all in all, this is GOOD NEWS.

Carry on.

But I thought Obama promised premiums wouldn't rise at all and that the cost of healthcare would go down?

I'm thinking that since so many young people think this is a great idea, they should consider it a priviledge to pay more for it.;) In fact, they should be elated.

But I thought Obama promised premiums wouldn't rise at all and that the cost of healthcare would go down?

That was back before his method of achieving that goal was killed by fear mongering.

It's an improvement, but the issue isn't solved. They need to pass a Public Option plan, even if it is just in a bill by itself. I don't care how it happens, it just needs to happen for this issue to be solved.

nonsense, he still claims costs will go down as a result of his bill

it's central to his message, he was pushing it last wednesday in iowa city

he's full of crap

sorry

Thats OK...the pres intends to tax insurance plans to pay for the health care initiative...especially those cadillac plans.

Well...not ALL cadillac plans. Not the unions plans for example...

obama campaign ad, OCTOBER 08:

"On health care, John McCain promises a tax credit," an announcer says in one of Obama's new ads, over images of families examining their bills. "But here's what he won't tell you: McCain would make you pay taxes on your health benefits, taxing your health care for the first time ever, raising costs for employers who offer health care so your coverage could be reduced or dropped completely. You won't find one word about it on his website."

It really is good news. A friend, who owns a small business, had her rates increase around 15% over one year.

Another I told you so moment.

Before everyone gets all giddy about taxing young people, lets remember that a great many of them are attempting to enter a depressed job market which reduces their lifetime earnings by a significant degree.

Also older people have worked longer and have had a lifetime to accumulate earnings in order to pay for things like this.

Have no fear my fellow young people, it's not over yet.
We still have to finance the wasted money that boomers approved going out of the SS system.

:lol::lol:

Yeah, a bunch of young kids who would otherwise never buy insurance, is forced into buying insurance.

And you call this a good thing......:doh

It's a great thing increases the pool of insured people which reduces overall costs. Pays for routine medical visits and we all know early diagnosis saves lives, reduces costs and gets people the medical treatment they need in a timely fashion.

It's like the person who needs a brake job but can't afford it. If you catch it early usually it means checking the brake fluid and replacing the pads. If you catch it later then it's the pads the calipers the lines and the routers. If you wait way too long then it threatens your life and anyone on the roads life not to mention their vehicle.

10 to 20 a month doesn't pay much off. Few even do that. Anything that begins leftist, btw, is not to be taken seriously.

How about the young ones who CAN afford insurance, but refuse to buy it?
I know too many people who spend their money on toys and gadgets and then say they can't afford medical insurance....

why, you should pass a law to FORCE them to do what YOU want them to, naturally

they'll be SURE to VOTE for you if you do

LOL!

Maybe, or maybe not. But are you suggesting we do what they will vote for, taking a poll, or do what is right?

obama's the most incompetent politician at the national level america has ever produced

he's lost seniors forever, he's lost independents

now, youth

the enthusiasm of the youth and black vote were markedly down in virginia, jersey and massachusetts

elections in america are won on enthusiasm

But I thought Obama promised premiums wouldn't rise at all and that the cost of healthcare would go down?

He never said that. He said that the goal was to curb healthcare inflation. For example, if the healthcare bill results in healthcare costs only growing by 10% over the next 5 years rather than 30%, that is a good thing.
