North Korea has demonstrated long range missile capabilities and have nuclear weapons.

Is this threat credible or is it more bluster from ailing feeble mind idiot?

Maybe we should wait for Obama to save us with his now classic appeasement approach. Obama could away go to Pyongyang and make the Ill one feel better by bowing to him.

North Korea vows 'nuclear strikes' in latest threat

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea's military warned South Korea and the United States on Friday of "unprecedented nuclear strikes" as it expressed anger over a report the two countries plan to prepare for possible instability in the totalitarian country, a scenario it dismissed as a "pipe dream."

The North routinely issues such warnings. Diplomats in South Korea and the US have repeatedly called on Pyongyang to return to international negotiations aimed at ending its nuclear programs.

"Those who seek to bring down the system in the (North), whether they play a main role or a passive role, will fall victim to the unprecedented nuclear strikes of the invincible army," North Korea's military said in comments carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.

Damn Siberia has more lights than North Korea. I guess Kim Jong-il needs some food or something and this is why he they are "threatening" again.

I saw a funny caption for this picture. It was a motivational poster with this picture that said "Global Warming, North Korea is doing its part"

Haha that is pretty funny. Although the realization just hit me that this picture is an example of how poor and undeveloped that country is. Those poor North Koreans.

Detonating a nuclear weapon and delivering a nuclear weapon are two entirely different things. NK is only capable of building the crudest of nuclear weapons so far, barely in the range of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki weapons, which were delivered out the bomb bay of a large airplane. They wont fit on a missile that North Korea possesses.

I assume they could hit South Korea and Japan (and the U.S military bases therin) though?

Just an aside: this documentary offers a morbidly fascinating look at how the regime works and harrowing exposure of how bad the humanitarian situation is. http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...uS9CDDIWq2wKW7qjcBg&q=welcome+to+north+korea# Its a shame the world didnt get rid of Kim Jong Ill when they had the chance, given both the humanitarian situation and the fact that North Korea has pretty much based its economy on flouting UN arms embargoes, but its clear now that anyone attempting to intervene will get their fingers burnt to say the least.

It's not that they don't have electricity its that they rely on the outside world for their resources. Most of the country is "on the grid" but at night time only certain places are kept lit.

Yeah I understand that, but still no electricity at night must really suck.

It's time to send Kim Jong Jackoff a shut-yer-hole thank you bomb.

I'm more of a fan of the pink mist. The North Korean people have suffered enough without being nuked.

Yes those crude weapons should be ignored because after all they only killed tens of thousands of people and were delivered over 1500 miles away by crude old propeller driven planes.

Yea we should ignore threats from crazy people.

We know that normal people would never risk annihilation but Kim Jong is not a normal person and neither is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Kim may be terminally ill and Ahmadinejad has a religious death wish.

Crude is under estimating the danger in deal with kooks like these two or radical idiots like we have at the helm now who don't know one damn thing about how to deal with other Countries as Obama showed when insulted Benjamin Netanyahu .

Look, no one is saying that we shouldn't make sure these people dont have nuclear weapons. But these people as I said before, aren't that smart, but they're not that stupid.

Do you honestly think they're gonna kamikaze with Nuclear Weapons to sock it to you, which will destroy their entire country so they have nothing to rule?

Yeah. Real Threatening.

Why is it our job to police the world and get involved. This is just another act of puffery in hopes of global attention. I feel as long as our borders are secure, N. Korea isn't our problem. If, god forbid, a bomb is detonated, it will be a terrible day in history, but Il and N. Korea would be wiped off the map in no time flat, without the use of nukes...

Invincible, my ass. My bet is that, if we so much as sneeze, the North Koreans will replace the French in surrender jokes.

Why do they need a missile? Seoul is within artillery range of the border, and the 2 countries share a coastline. They could deliver a warhead by any number of methods and still do a lot of damage to South Korea, and that's who the first target will be.

Yup, maybe they can do it. If they do, they will become known for having only one export - Glass.

It seems that many of those posting here have overlooked the bigger picture.

Yes N. Korea would like to negotiate some kind of deal that would feed it's people, and yes they should know they could never win in a nuclear exchange.

They also have an ally they used back before the cease fire was signed and China would love to get into it with the the west particularly the U.S.

When they make threats they have an ace up their sleeve and even if we had a a leader who would stand up to them there is only so much can be done or said when there is s major threat from the next super power looming in the foreground.

It would be nice it there were a major nuclear accident in Pyongyang during a high level Government meeting.

Wink wink nudge nudge say no more, say no more. know what I mean A.

It's easy to be flippant about it, but the fact remains that north Korea is a threat to its neighbor, and in my opinion if they feel backed into a corner, they could do something like that. My opinion for a long time is if they could find a way to reunify with the south while saving face, they'd do it. If they can't, then in their death throes they may try to do as much damage to the south as they can.

Sure, but the question is how many South Koreans and Americans are they going to take with them?

Once AGAIN they are full of CRAP. They just want more of our money to help them with whatever they want. I say we dont do ****. Flip them off like we did to our ally Israel. :doh

Right on.

Fear, feeling helpless can be as dangerous as arrogance, and over confidence.

In this case we also have to always keep mind that Kim was no elected to his position and his I.Q. has been in question from the start.
