For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip viewed in Jerusalem as a humiliation.

After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said.

“It was awful,” the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages”, poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House telephone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received “the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea”.

What a bumbling fool. Insulting one of our closest allies with such idiocy is really unbelievable.

But considering the moronic capitulation to Russia and turning our back on Poland with absolutely no diplomatic gain this kind of adolescent diplomacy really isn't surprising anymore.

Thank you President Obama for once again showing that experience actually does matter.

I read that earlier today... what an incredibly odd way to treat a visiting ally, whether or not you're currently in agreement on an issue.

Does Obama believe this make him appear "strong?"

It certainly doesn't make him look strong. Just weak, inexperienced and breaking yet another basic moral decorum for presidents. Not that he cares since its obvious his narcissism trumps his respect for the office he occupies.

This is another prime example of Obama's arrogance, and amateur status on the world stage.

This type of behavior may be acceptable when you hanging out with your fellow coke freaks but it's no way to treat a head of state Insulting one of our closest allies as texmaster stated.

Obama in a fool and all he needs to go along with his actions in a bright red nose and a pair of big read shoes about two feet long. He's a clown and an embarrassment.

It's bad enough that he kisses butt all over the world and plays the grand appeaser to Countries like Iran that hate us or make nice with his pal and Dictator Hugo Chavez. But this is over the Damn top.

I'll give the story more crediblity once I see it in a reputable website/newspaper.

Well what do you know.

President Barack Obama's meeting with Netanyahu yesterday turned out to be another Israeli charade. President Obama actually left the meeting for a time to have dinner with First Lady Michelle Obama. It wasn't a slap in the face of the Israeli Prime Minister as some in the Israeli right wing media have suggested. It was more like Obama the diplomat signifying that there was not much diplomacy going on at the meeting. Not much if anything was accomplished. Everything the U.S. wanted was on the table in black and white. Israel basically said we'll think about it. Netanyahu Announced on his plane ride home that Israel had reached the "golden mean" in their land disputes with Palestinians. I don't think so.

You people are laughable. Keep up the BS.

Obama should've taken one of these into his meeting:

I agree the initial report is dubious with it's lack of verifiable sources, but I disagree that Examiner.com is a reputable website/newspaper. It's a dressed-up blog and the quote you gave is simply opinion by the author.

Interesting. When you do a Google search of "Netanyahu humiliated," all that comes up are right wing websites. Go figure.

I don't think it was the act of a bumbling fool. It looks like calculated political payback to me. Don't forget, this happened right after Israel announced it was putting more settlers in East Jerusalem, Just as Joe Biden arrived there for a visit.

It was just Obama and Netanyahu having a dick measuring contest. Just silliness.

Israel is a liberal democracy, hence the prime minister is not a dictator and does not control everything.
The timing of the first action was the responsibility of the interior minister.
The timing of this building of 20 apartments(yes 20) is naturally the decision of Jerusalem's municipality.

The actual building in East Jerusalem is not something new, and is something that has existed 46 years before the current administration has even been formed.

True, I remember a couple of weeks ago hearing some American saying this had been going on for all those years and they had apparently been unaware of it.

Never mind this

Israel agrees to freeze settlement construction as gesture to US - Israel News, Ynetnews
The article you're referring to is about the Israeli decision to show a true willingness towards peace and freeze its west bank settlements.
Jerusalem is not considered to be a west bank settlement in Israeli eyes, and when he has announced it, Benjamin Netanyahu has clearly stated that Jerusalem is not included in his plan.
The American reaction at that time, was a small disappointment that Jerusalem is not included and yet a great applause for the act.
Clearly that applause didn't last long.

And by the way, the Golan Heights are also not recognized as Israeli land by the international community, just as East Jerusalem, and yet building in Golan Heights is not being criticized.
All of this technically and obviously results in the conclusion that the new opposition to Israeli building in East Jerusalem is an agenda-sourced one, one that has originated in the halls of the White House, I'm afraid.

I accept I was only half listening and wasn't sure the area the American woman was speaking of.

However from the link I gave

According to the Shas minister, continued construction in Jerusalem and the settlement blocs that will remain in Israel's possession in a peace deal will be made possible only in the framework of a US-backed permanent agreement.

Now have you gone against that, or not.

If that has to do with the missile defense program, why should the American tax payer being paying for a military structure in Europe. The Europeans should start to learn how to defend themselves. Im sick and tired of defending socialists.

Really aps, you're going to complain about the credibility of the source and to counter it you post what is essentially a COMMENTARY blog by a man whose entire purpose at that news organization is to do puff pieces (Did you know Obama and Michelle were voted Cutest Couple by Nickelodian! OMGZ!) on Michelle Obama detailing her "Living History".

This is like saying a worldnetdaily story is bogus cause media matters said so.

The original story was dubious no doubt, however I highly doubt this individual who pretty clearly is a staunch Obama supporter is going to give a fair view either. Its likely somewhere in the middle.

More to the question I'd have is what reaction would we be seeing if this was back with the old French head of state, if the French media reported it how the Israeli media did, and it was Bush in office. Would we be hearing how its overblown or would we be hearing how he's a horrible diplomat whose an idiot and an embarassment to our country.

I agree but hey, if US is spending its taxpayers money on protecting Israel. May as well add Europe in that list as well.

After all, US does more business with Europe than it does Israel.

But who will defend us when Al-Qaeda sends in its navy and airforce?

They already sent their airforce. Three out of four direct hits as I recall.

The story is confirmed and shows Obama to be true to his Muslim roots. After all he was born a Muslim and with Communist parents, friends etc. we should expect nothing better from the Amateur in Chief.

He is willing to kiss but all over the middle east and bow to dictators and talk with our sworn enemies but not our best friends in the Middle east.

Obama is as anti-Israel and he has shown he in anti-American.

He will go down in History as not only the worst Person to ever hold the office but as a traitor to the values our Nation was founded on.

Obama is clearly actively working to destroy the Constitution and is actively trying to erode the relationships with the UK and Israel our finest allies.

He is showing himself to be a pretty uppity Muslim, without good reason because he such and idiot.

Because Poland is an ally who is one of the few countries who actually send troops to actually fight and they have housed terrorists as well.

Plus is keeps an eye on Russia.

All damn good reasons.

I find it funny how a Conservative from Texas wants to defend socialists while at the same time our money situation isnt exactly healthy. In any case however Then maybe the Polish should buy the system from us. Its not the job of the American people to defend the scum filled socialist hell hole that is Europe.

Perhaps just another act of cheap politics. Playing to his voters i.e. Rev. Wright who are anti-Israel.

Actually I agree with Dan, this seems more like a response to what happened when Biden was over in Israel. It doesn't excuse it though.

I think it was probably because he had heard that there was to be an announcement that Israel was building more houses in a Palestinian, not settler area in East Jerusalem, or maybe that had even been announced by then.

Two snubs in such a short time is not something many US Presidents would put up with.
