Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia's John Lewis

That's what pathological liars say.

So he's lying about what he said about liberals and DNA?

Which is it?

Please let us know which face is talking next time.

Don't get in a lather, hoss. I am saying he is talking in absolutes or in other words tunnel vision rhetoric.

:rofl Have you read some of the posts at the link you provided? Very funny stuff! As you're reading, you can actually begin to imagine the author eating out of Obama's hand before each new paragraph.

"What should I say next?" asked the pawn. "Just tell the people I'm creating jobs," replied Obama. "And don't forget to add a bit of crisis in the mix to make sure people are scared into believing what you say about me."

At least the democrats say things besides , no.

Oh dear, this was the first thread I looked at after googling "best political forum" and seeing the "bias optional, civlity a must" rubric. And the first post in the thread repeatedly uses the insulting "tea bagger" and goes downhill from there. Where I come from "civility" means you accord your opponents the presumption of good will, don't consider them "morons," etc.

Well, I'll try.

I am of two minds on this story, assuming it happened at all, which I don't accept as a given. First one is, this is the biggest domestic policy measure since the 1930s and will affect the lives and fortunes of every American, so of course emotions run high, and of course a few nuts or marginal viewpoints become unhinged by it - so what? Making that an "issue" is pure partisan exploitation. (Of course there were no unhinged remarks back when war protests were the thing, were there? Hah!)

The second is the very real possibility that these were agents provocateurs engaged by some far left interest or group. A group like BAMN is perfectly capable of such an act, and probably individuals associated with ACORN also.

Had I been there I would have questioned the individual closely, and if it wasn't apparent that he wasn't just a complete whacko or moron, tried to follow him back to a car to get a license plate number. A real journalist (they're the ones who view political events skeptically rather than at face value) would use that number to find the vehicle's owner and look for lefty associations.

You need to understand that many of us were not aware of the 'urban' definition of the term "tea baggers" and it's digusting consotation. Therefore if we used it it was because of the understanding that it was a knickname for people who usd the tea bag to symbolize the tea party which they in turn "borrowed" from our history.

To say that a " few nuts or marginal viewpoints become unhinged by it - so what?" is is my minnd a worse attitude than using a insulting term. Ifone thinks that it is ok for rhetoric to be an excuse for violence that is also very much worse than ininsulting term.

To dismiss the violence that was perpetrted by those who became "unhinged" by the excessive rhetoric of the tea party as "agents provocateurs " is insulting to the moral intelligent person. I do not know who BAMM is but I have heard of ACORN of course but I do not view ACORN as being competant enough to conduct an operation as "agents provocateurs ".

You seem to engage is accusations e.g "pure partisan exploitation" but you turn around and dump on ACORN a now defunct organization in what I would consider "pure partisan exploitation".

Seems to me thatpeople who live in glass hoses should not propel hard projectiles.

Just curious ?? Do you use the term "teabaggers" as an insult or were you as I was not aware of the filthy act that it apparently implies and did you consider them "teabaggers" becasue they hung tea bags from their hats?

You just got here so you should not judge the forum by a few post. You aint seen nothing, yet, so to speak.

The forum is well moderated and if you think someone is insulting you, then you can simply report it to a moderator by clicking the icon.

Eventually Captain Courtesy will ban them from the forum if they become too obnoxious and insulting to other posters.

What I like about the forum is that there are a diverse variety of posters representing the whole spectrum of political and social debate.

Captain Courtesy is the man. He is one of the most righteous moderators in the history of the internet and he is very handsome and has even been recommended by Duncan Hines and Al Gore.

Also, posters use a lot of intellectual humor in order to offer some spice to sometimes boring subjects.

BTW, welcome to the forum.:2wave:

I disagree Vader. They went through a lot of hard knocks and abuse to get there despite overwhelming hatred from their opponents.

They are undeniably racist. DO NOT ATTEMPT to deny it.

"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone", was a sign that was before you were born. I remember traveling the South in the early sixties. All the eateries had a segregated window that said "colored" above it.

Yes, actually, I do know what they went through. In the 80s, I lived in Hawaii and I was subject to severe racial discrimination because I was white. I am aware of how racism feels and what is to be on the receiving end of it.

I don't think you have any idea of what they went through.

WRONG.

I had a black friend in the army who was a friend of Medgar Edwards and he told me a few stories about what it was like growing up in Cleveland, Tenn; where everybody with a pickup truck had guns in rifle racks and cb radios.

I am aware of the evils perpatrated on people by a collection of backwards southern ****bags.

I am aware of the corrupt southern law enforcement officers dilberately refusing to protect the peace riders when their buseses came through.
I am even aware of the evil done to three civil rights workers in Mississippi in 1964.

HAHAHAHHA

Andrew Breitbart offers to give 10 grand to the united negro college fund for any solid evidence that the word "nigger" was thrown at the black congressman as they claim.

So far, NO MONEY HAS HAD TO BE PAID :rofl

It’s time for the allegedly pristine character of Rep. John Lewis to put up or shut up. Therefore, I am offering $10,000 of my own money to provide hard evidence that the N- word was hurled at him not 15 times, as his colleague reported, but just once. Surely one of those two cameras wielded by members of his entourage will prove his point.

It's time for John Lewis and the rest of the racist black caucus members to be removed from congress.

Thank you for having an accurate memory of these events and stating it truthfully. That's exactly how it happened. So many tea partiers and their sympathizers go around claiming that they never called themselves that and it was "the liberals" who gave them that name. Doesn't mean it's not an insult now.

Gee, what do you think?

If a liberal group had NAMED THEMSELVES the "butt munchers" or something like that without knowing what it meant, you'd be calling them that for years, and you know it. And I wouldn't blame you one bit. That's just too damn good to let go.

I'm still laughing at the guy who got asked "are you going to teabag congress?" who replied "yes, I'm going to teabag every one of them." That was hilarious.

Yes, for about a month, until the rest of us let them in on the joke and they quickly stopped.

At least the democrats say things besides , no.

At a time when debt is skyrocketing, personally, I'll be the first to say "please put me in the 'NO' department."

Honestly, it really seems like Conservatives are like the parents to Liberals, who are like high school girls that only care about spending money without looking beyond the problems their debt will create.

Because 515 Billion dollars a year on the defense budget is the Right's idea of fiscal conservatism. It's a recession, money needs to be spent.

yet you support national healthcare and you are not hypocritical how?

My neighbor did .. It was I who told him what I learned about the "urban" definition of "TEA BAGGERS" and told him to ask his wife to Google i for him since he cannot read. As I tried to educate you guys before I learned that the term "fish sticks" has a filthy meaning. I hope someone tell that to GORTONS they sell frozen fish and fish sticks is or was one of their products. Wonder if they know that in some of your guys venacular "fish sricks" are "fish peni " !!!! New terms especially when used by the younger crowd take a while to get to us mature people.

Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia's John Lewis

....
The protesters also shouted obscenities at other members of the Congressional Black Caucus ..

That was the real disgrace of yesterday and the behavior of those Tea Baggers reflected upon the majority of them since the maority of the Tea Baggers did nothing to stop much behavior. !!!

sad sad sad !!!

Well, ever since the story broke, there is still no evidence that these things actually happened. No tape or video, no one willing to publicly state they saw or heard these things, and nobody who will go on the record. It appears to be fabricated.
