Child escorted out of class by police for sitting during the pledge, mother outraged

Re: Child escorted out of class by police for sitting during the pledge, mother outra

Snd so is the kid in the story.......
I don't like the fact that the parents used the kid as a pawn to fight their own battle. If that's what you were saying, then I agree. It seems like everyone is wrong in this story.

1.)kids being taught to ritually recite the Pledge in school
2.)the parents using their kid as a pawn
3.)the teacher having the kid removed by police

how is that possible anymore? America sucks now.

If it's so bad why are you still here? Do you need us to take up a collection so you can go live in say Afghanistan, or China.

They would love to hear from you in Russia or Cuba. It's amazing how people who claim everything's wrong use every opportunity to take advantage of freedom of speech they would get in most places.

Go to Iran and tell them Iran sucks and see how long you get to promote anarchy.

Ajmel Quereshi?? You can't make this stuff up. The ACLU had to send someone from India to defend this child, in a time when Muslim stereotyping is an issue. Did Bob Jones have the day off or something? Whether this guy is Muslim or not is irrelevent, it's the appearance. The kid didn't do anything wrong, though in our day we'd have probably got the crap kicked out of us during recess. Anyway, the teacher should be fired, an apology isn't enough. I believe in the pledge, but damn this isn't the USSR. The police should charge the teacher with false arrest.

I agree with most of what you say, but I take issue with your depiction of Ajmel Quereshi. Here is his bio:

Bio for Ajmel Quereshi: Ajmel joins the ACLU of Maryland as our brand new Skadden Fellow, focusing on immigrants rights issues. He is fresh from a stint as a judicial clerk to federal Chief Judge James Carr of the Northern District of Ohio, and already has a history in civil rights work and with the ACLU. Before going to law school he was an Investigator Fellow at the Public Defender Service in D.C., worked with the Advancement Project on issues related to the school-to-prison pipeline, defender services for juvenile offenders, and felon disenfranchisement, and worked at Amnesty International in its Domestic Human Rights Program, focusing on racial profiling in the wake of 9/11 and opposing extension of the PATRIOT Act. During his first year of law school, Ajmel was a law clerk at the ACLU of Minnesota, and during his first summer, he worked as a law clerk at the ACLU’s National Legislative Office, focusing on criminal justice issues. During his second summer (and into his third year), he worked with the ACLU’s National Legal Department on issues related to airline racial profiling, illegal wiretapping, and educational discrimination against Native Americans. That summer, he also worked with the Center for Constitutional Rights. Ajmel is a 2007 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was Symposium Editor of the Journal of Law and Inequality, active in the Asylum Law Project, and Co-President of the Muslim Law Students Association.

From this link.

As you can see, the ACLU didn't send him from India, or anyplace else, other than somewhere in the good ole' USA.

I am not busting your balls over this. After all, a president and congress put Americans in concentration camps during WWII, and their only crime was being of Japanese ancestry. All I am saying here is that assumptions can be a dangerous thing to what America stands for.

America stands for tyranny if people think america is free they are wrong. If the laws wont let us smoke in public resturaunts that means they took away some freedom, they FORCE us to wear seatbelts, thats taking away freedom. america is a tyrannical democracy.

there are SO many things i'd love to say to you right now except i'd be banned for 3 months for saying them. so i'll keep my mouth shut, or just e-mail you my complaints about your short ,useless, smart-ass comments, that really have no point other than to agrivate the poster.

...Or you could support your claim that America is a "tyrannical democracy." That would be nice.
