Pediatrician Earl Bradley Charged With Molestation of 103 Children

I am currently working with a client who, something similar to this happened to when she was 7. She's 23, now. The amount of emotional damage that this (amongst other things) did is incomprehensible.

Am I allowed to ask more questions about this client? For example, was it a one-time thing? Did it occur over several years? What do you mean by "emotional damage"? Is she incapable of having "dating" relationships? If you can't say, I understand.

I can give you some generalities. It happened once. At 7, her pediatrician gave her a gynecological exam that turned out to be more of a molestation than an "exam". She has been unable to form relationships with pretty much anyone... has never dated and has had practically no friends. The emotional damage from this resulted in a very serious eating disorder. There is some measure of correlation between sexual abuse and the development of an eating disorder. One feels like their body has been controlled by someone else; the psychological response can be to try to control the one thing that no one can really take away: what goes in and what goes out. Self-injury is also correlated for other reasons. This girl does not suffer from that issue.

Yikes. Did she report it to a parent? Has she remembered it since that time, or did she block it out for a period of time and it came back to her?

The parent was in the room at the time, but did not recognize what was happening. The girl "froze" and couldn't/didn't say anything at the time... and for several years.

Holy crap. That poor woman.

Send the bastard to the Penitentiary for a digital exam.

I support the death penalty and believe our supreme court was wrong in banning it in child rape cases.

Child rape is torture of an innocent. It goes against the most basic of human instincts to protect children. The offender, like a murderer, is beyond redemption and has no place in society.

I never watch Oprah. However, when I was stuck at home in the blizzard of 2010, I watched an episode that just so happen to have 4 child molesters. Now, one of them had sex with a 15 year old. But the other three had sex with much younger (one was 5 years old) children. They all stated that their desire to molest a child would never go away. Thus, I agree tht they are beyond redemption.

I cannot conceive of something so heinous. That sort of vermin needs to be put down like a rabid dog, not put on some bull**** list somewhere and allowed to live among people.

Throw em all in a prison together for the remainder of their lives. Let em molest each other.

I can think of far worse tortures that I would like to see him suffer.
So what is your opinion? Are these sorts able to be cured? Is there any treatment they are able to respond to?

This makes my blood boil. How ****ing stupid can you be? If I had even the slightest inkling my daughter was being molested by her pediatrician I would call the police and tell them on was on my way to his office with a crowbar.

I woundn't use a crowbar... I would have more fun tearing him apart with my bare hands.

Both of you are thinking small, I would introduce him to my German shepard and my Rottweiler

OK I understand your feelings--if someone raped my son I would do everything possible to visit as painful an end as I could imagine on the mope

But let us think rationally. Did you ever see the Movie (or read the book) called the "ONION FIELD". A couple mopes who took a couple cops hostage figured they were going to be executed based on a faulty belief that the law passed after Charles Lindburg's son was murdered required the death penalty for kidnappers. Figuring that they would die if caught, they tried to execute the two cops (ie the witnesses). One got away though

If a rapist knows that if he is caught he is gonna die tell me what possible reason would he have to keep the victim/witness alive.

I would prefer a raped child to a dead child. THe former trauma might, even if remotely, be overcome.

The british military police tortured Mau Mau terrorists by pounding beer bottles into them with rubber mallets.

You know, since this guy is a pediatrician, let the punishment fit the crime. Give him a C section, and pull his dick out through it.

In my opinion, and from what I've read in the research, serial child molesters cannot be cured. Best to lock them away, perform either medical or chemical castration, or do some sort of 24/7 monitoring. Incidental molesters are another story, and depending on the incident and what else is going on, it is entirely possible that they will never do something like this again.

Now there's an idea! Maybe I should take my 95-lb German Shepherd with us to the pediatrician. That would make slime like this guy think twice about ****ing around with my kid.

I say ... send him to the supermax prison in Florence, Colorado for the rest of his life.

In prison culture if others find out you did something bad to a kid, you typically dont make it very far.

I hear this all the time, and I wish it were true. But being a criminal justice major and seeing the stats and hearing the stories and viewing the prisons. This statement doesn't hold up. Most of the time, prisoners just attack who they want. This "code of ethics" in a prison, doesn't really exist. It depends on what type of prison you are in, but most of the time other prisoners don't find out what you did. Plus they keep child molestors locked away from the other inmates for this reason. The fact that it could happen doesn't mean it "does happen." Unfortunately.
