SD...lets be very honest you and me...OK? Im ABSOLUTELY FINE if you say Palin whored her children...provided you also say Gore whored his kids...and B and Mo' Bama whore their kids out all the time, and oh...well...pretty much EVERY politician that has run for national office.

I AM NOT a Palin fan. i dont think she has any business being on the national stage...she just isnt ready. then again...I dont CARE either.

But things cut both ways. Lets ridicule fat people and the Obama piglets for their daliance with Obesity and lets make sure we slam Mo'Bama and her enormous ass for presenting her children to the world as poster children for obesity prevention.

Again...I GOTS a sense of humor. I laugh at myself...I take shots at me...no worries. Nothing anyone can say about me that I wont or havent said about myself. And as a politician Palin should expect the hits too. Just not the attacks at her kids. Not attacks AT her THROUGH her kids. And in that I think she has the RIGHT to be upset...I just dont think its the smartest thing for her to do.

Kids of politicians are supposed to be off limits.

It's called shock humor. It obviously isn't for everyone, but does have an appeal for some people. What is the big deal?

You know what.. my brother is mentally retarded, and I do not mind the term being used, I do not mind any of the things Palin has been up in arms taking offense to, whether it be Rahm Emmanuel's original statements, or it be this Family Guy episode, or Colbert calling Palin a "****ing retard". One is used as colloquial slur that is generally accepted, the others are comical, also acceptable. None of thees instances are being specifically derogatory towards retarded people.

Precisely my point and intent.

For the record...my oldest sister in law who I love VERY much and was extremely close to died several years back. She had DS. Retard is NOT part of my vocabulary. As a word it doesnt scare me or to be honest, bother me. But the ease at which some people use it to attack others, then get upset at some for taking offense...well...that doesnt BOTHER me...but it sure speaks volumes of EVERYONE.

Again...my point is to MAKE it glaringly obvious. Im tactical...like a nuclear weapon.

They did the joke fine. But to attack someone it actually does hurt using moral relativism to excuse it should be called for what it is.

You like so many others have confused education for intelligence and intellect, they do not go hand in hand, and if she were of normal intelligence it still wouldn't excuse the bad joke.

If you want need another example look no further than Obama. Lots of education no practical experience at anything and intellectually changed and lacks the intelligence to seek the help he needs from qualified people.

Exceptions are made for people with mental challenges that allow them to make it through school and make them feel like everyone else and that's fine, but don't think for a minute they are held to the same standard as the rest of the population.

on topic, IF she gets airtime undeservedly for her facebook posts lashing out at anything and everything, then so too does a rebuttal, esp one that was as amusing as the DS girl laying out a bit of smackdown on Sarah's selective outrage.

I have thick skin and a sense of humor.. you missed, and your delivery sucked, if it was intended at being humorous, it lacked any and all potential indicators, it came across as being completely serious.

Any person who is in the spotlight is a potential target. It comes with the territory. People need to get thicker skin and not take everything so personally. The purpose of the joke was to make the Family Guy audience laugh, and not to personally offend Sarah Palin and her family.

Politicians kids should be off limits. there are PLENTY of things to ridicule Ms Palin for. Implying that her daughter is a retard...crossed the line. Unless you dont like her...in which case she should lighten up and chill.
