Rep. John Murtha, Iraq war critic, dies at 77 (not a [r.i.p] thread) be warned

Think for yourself much? Those missiles were an effort to kill the man responsible for planning 9/11... before 9/11! Had dumbo put that much effort into allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the warnings he had been given he just might have prevented 9/11. Had he wanted to prevent it, that is!. But you go on believing what your cowboy orders you to.

I would rather my President be overloaded with hormones and brains than be deficient in brains... and patriotism... and integrity... and honor... and... oh hell, I'm not gonna list all the qualities dubya lacked.
So you're into hormones?

Murtha died from complications in a gall bladder surgery........That is amazing....I had my gall bladder taken out and they used a scope procedure and I was out of the hospital the same day and don't even have a scar.......
The medical clowns apparently cut into his intestines by mistake causing an infection.

Hehehehehehehe...

Gawd, I just love this place. :rofl

Good Riddance, this man disgraced the Marines, besmirched good soldiers, and refused to apologize for falsey accusing Marines of murder.

May he rot in hell. :pimpdaddy:

Look, we may think the guy is dispicable, but so is this post.

It was a joke, dude and I went into it with the knowledge that my humor would be wasted on some members of the forum.

Not lost on me, but Crosscheck's joke was better... and I am white (though not overweight like the late Representative Murtha.

Any surgical procedure, even one considered common and routine, entails a certain degree of risk.

I have no issue with people voicing their opinions here. The only thing that I want to add is that it is ironic that many of the people here dancing on Murtha's grave were the very same people that were condemning liberals for doing the same thing when that Piece of **** Jesse Helms died.

Enjoy your pleasure right-wingers....just be aware of your hypocrisy in the future. That's all I'm sayin.

I agree that some of them are hypocrites on this matter. Please don't include me in the list. I think Murtha was a dispicable scumbag, but I am not going to wish him to rot in hell. It would be MUCH harder on him to go through purgatory, learn the truth and then have to put up with the guilt until he is finally admitted beyond the Pearly Gates.

What makes you think I'm freaking out? I'm simply pointing out that this type of thread shows a tremendous amount of pettiness and immaturity on the part of those denigrating a deceased man.

They're expressing their opinions of a deceased Congressman. I'm expressing my opinion of them. Seems fair to me.

And if they want to critique him respectfully, I have no problem with that. But the wishing him to rot in hell and things like that that I, as a reasonably devout Roman Catholic Christian, have serious problems with.

Murtha never apologized to the Marines he slandered, and I as a veteran will never a apologize for saying that he dosn't deserve to be honored. In fact he was a tratior to the USMC and to all who served.

It's just words ..get over it.

Murtha is a prime example of why we have ex-Marines vs. former Marines.

Look, we may think the guy is dispicable, but so is this post.

I'll let you know when I give a ****....

he accused those marines of murder. murder is a capital crime in the military....

he would risk the lives of innocent marines if it meant a political platform/gain.

the dirt bag was a traitor.... I celebrate his demise as I would any tyrant or would be tyrant..

good effin riddance.

There is a rip thread for that, this is not that thread.

So many veterans. So many blind men and women who wouldn't recognize integrity if it bit you on your ass. Murtha may have been no different a politician than the rest of them but, he was a man of honor. When Bush's lies to go to war were exposed Murtha had the balls to stand up and tell the truth about what was really happening in Iraq. He loved the military and America enough to pull the curtain aside exposing to all of us some very ugly **** that was going on, no matter how much landed on himself. Instead of embracing the truth and dealing with it, many of you cowards continued with your lemming roles and did what Bushies do best when confronted with the truth... attack the messenger. Many of you found that it isn't easy to tell the King he has no clothes.

To you neanderthals who believe "if you don't support the war you don't support the troops" and denigrate such a courageous man, if you are serving now you should get out because you don't get it. If you're already out, I'm glad I didn't have to serve with you. If you never served, I don't care what you think.

It's not always easy to do the right thing.

R.I.P. John Murtha.
One helluva man!

the "right thing" was for dead dirtbag murtha to apologize to the marines he falsey accused.....

your strawman and your insults to other service members say more about you than it does about us.

John murhta, one hell of a room tempurature dead guY

I hate to bad mouth someone who is dead but I will make and exception with Murtha.......The man was on the take and a traitor to the military he served in............His seat was in my district in Western Pa....Maybe we can get it back like we did Teddys.......I guess I should take him off my tag line........

How long dd he have left in his term? They will replace him for now with a stand-in Democrat until re-election.

Dems are worried Reps are going to get that seat too.

Speaking ill of the dead is not advisable. The Reaper hears you loud and clear.

Times like these always bring to mind legacies and what is Murtha's? Once a solid voice for the military, he'll be remembered for his disingenuous war opposition and calling marines murderers when they were later acquitted. He acted shamefully but then, diggin into his past we see wheelbarrels of pork streaming into his district, he'll be remembered as a corrupt, untruthful politician and it's a telling reality for the Democrat Party.

The disingenuous fake and selective opposition to the Iraq war bordered on treasonous for some, shameful for others. Many observers making remarks will have to live with those remarks and when soldiers return home or are acquitted, many are going to pay a reputation price. Harry Reid, John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, they'll all have serious and in some cases fatal character flaws that won't nor can't be ignored.

On a personal note, may God allow Murtha to rest in peace. John will have much explaining to do, however.
