Tea Party Fireworks: Speaker Rips McCain, Obama, 'Cult of Multiculturalism'

Herring mate, do you know the number of dyslexics in the US and their average IQ's?

If your assuming that I think people with dyslexia are unintelligent your completely wrong.

This is more about critical thinking skills than anything else but none the less even with your dyslexia you are able to read and decipher higher level discussions about complex issues.

I don't assume that, I still have to get others to fill in forms for me, like many others with my problems.

Ps politicians of all persuasions have relied on the "dumb" vote to get into power, I would sight Dubya and Blair as a prime example's, even if there is still doubt about the legitimacy of one of Dubya's terms.

Blair, G.W. 2, et all have been worthless for the most part.

I hate to see constant repeats of this.

Not in my Republican party either.(Reference to original post)

I have seen some honest posts calling for literacy tests, and I must address that.

There are poor blacks in inner city urban areas, and poor whites in Appalachia, who would flunk literacy tests. However, they all have opinions on freedom, jobs, and taxes. You don't have to have a high school diploma, or even be literate, in order to face life's challenges, and to have an opinion on which party represents your values more. That is qualification enough to vote.

Literacy tests would serve no purpose than to politically silence many of the poor, and that is why I am against ALL literacy tests, even those that are not instituted because of racism.

No, he said that ignorant people shouldn't be allowed to vote.

You think ignorant people should be allowed to vote?

Do you give your three year old child the steering wheel when driving 60mph down the freeway?

Anyone who is a citizen, and who has not had their rights taken away legally, should be allowed to vote. It is the most basic expression of democracy. Voting rights should never be taken away without due process.

Give me a break. Tancredo's comments had little to do with literacy but all to do with calling anyone who voted for Obama illiterate.

Someone said it well; Tancredo is a lose cannon.

If the Teaparty is all for standing up again the over spending and over taxation by our government -- more power to them. Unfortunately the movement is being hijacked by those on the fringe and the partisan hacks that just hate Obama.

I love how at the "Teaparty Convention the same people that call for an end to extravagant spending by the government are paying $500 a head to attend and another $350 to listen to Caribou Barbie. Anyone else see a contradiction here? Oh and don't forget the Teaparty Cruises. :rofl:rofl:rofl

Dude, let's lay off the Caibou Barbie comment. It's annoying when we get the 187,270 "Messiah" jab, and we should try to be better people here.

No I'm referring to your deleted post where you responded to my challenge that Palin was illiterate.

My quote that you quoted in your deleted post said specifically

Not historically illiterate, not politically illiterate, but illiterate all by itself.

There is no confusion.

Honestly, I don't remember what I put in that post, so you can say what you want at this point and I cannot confirm or deny it. She can probably read, but I do question her ability to retain information after reading it (like the name of a newspaper)

Di'O in your country do you have to pass a literacy test to fight and die defending its values?

I don't believe in civics testing to vote, but I do believe in them in high school. Our youth are sadly undereducated in civics and need to understand the founding documents and history of our govt.

That's why I suggested being a tax payer and not being paid or benefited by the government in most ways.

Even then though you are proven wrong because there are already people that DO pay taxes that do not vote responsibly. Again, your suggestion does nothing to fight irresponsible voters, it just makes it so your charging for everyone (both responsible and irresponsible) to vote.

One racist I know is an old ex navy veteran. When he got out of the navy he started building instant slum apartments and renting them out to black people who payed their rent through section 8.

He hates black people and calls them the n word in private all the time.

He has signed pictures of all the republican presidents since nixon. He is alway complaining that n's are lazy, stupid and what have you and complaining that the government should get rid of welfare.

He made his fortune off of the people on government welfare.

When obama was elected he and his racist wife would sit in their office complaining about the obama conspirisy, birther stuff, commie stuff like that.

I got tired of it and one day I went to his office wearing my obama for president hat and I have not talked to him since.

And Tancredo is awesome. He is NOT a racist and he is the only representative who actively stood against illegal immigration not to mention getting consistent As from every conservative watchgroup on the issues.

Tancredo stands against not only illegal immigration, but legal immigration too. He's Congress's leading racist and it's a shame to have kooks like him in my party.

What I have bolded in the quote says it all. After Civil Rights was instituted in the 1960's, and the practice of conducting literacy tests in the South was effectively ended, racist elements in the United States fell back on subtle "code words" to push their racist views. Lately, however, racists have been emboldened and, as illustrated here, the code words are out, and the real meanings and intents are back.

I for one, do not believe that Obama's plans for America are the right ones, and I will always fight against them. But let's call a spade a spade, and tell it like it is. Some of the Obama bashers (not all of them, but some of them, and I want to make that crystal clear), are dedicated racists, and a few (Such as O'Keefe) have long-time connections to white supremacist groups. As the uncle of 3 wonderful kids who are the product of a mixed marriage (and a wonderful one, too), I will fight against these vermin, just as hard, if not harder than I will fight against Obama's policies. If I have my way, these kooks will not gain so much as a foothold inside the Republican party.

To the creeps who are attempting to infiltrate and poison the mainstream Conservative movement - The gloves are off. Not in MY house, you sonofabitches.

I agree with you. This will backfire for them. This movement will become more and more fringe, no matter if it has some merits.

Thanx. This is really a sore spot with me. This is the kind of stuff that helped to ruin Ron Paul's chances, despite Paul distancing himself from them, and telling them to take a hike. If the real teabaggers don't do something about this cancer, it will eat them down to the bone.

Once again, I totally agree.

The Republicans already have a problem with not having enough non-Whites in their ranks. They need to court minorities, not drive them away.

Many America White people have relatives who have married outside of the White race. All Lily White families are becoming more and more rare. The demographics alone are a reason to not tolerate this sort of talk.

They need to court minorities, not drive them away.

Well, appointing two black Secretaries of State and one black party leader hasn't really done them much good.

I don't really like the idea of actively courting minorities, any more than actively courting white people. People should make decisions based on the merits of candidates, not based on whether they promise to give all black people a lollipop. Incidentally, I think part of the reason many minorities lean so heavily leftward is that they are more likely to fit other demographics which lean leftward; that is, black people are much poorer and much younger on average than white people.

I'm talking political strategy here, not anything else. It's bad political strategy to offend minority groups and their friends and relatives.

As far as Black people, their political unity is far too great to simply blame on age and income demographics.

Who are you, and what have you done with American? This whole thing you got lately with saying things I agree with is just disturbing.

Tancredo's comments could be interrpreted as simply a slam on Obama supporters, saying he got elected because his supporters were ignorant about US government and possibly about Obama himself. However, it is Tancredo, a guy who I got a distinctly racist vibe from in primaries. Tancredo came across to me as a guy who wasn't concerned about illegal immigration because of security or economics, but because he was afraid of losing a white majority or having the white culture influenced by latino immigrants. So, given his specific language and history, its not unfair to say his comments had a racist tinge to them.

I must also say, this "national convention" of the tea party is a joke. Most tea party activists are everyday folks, not the type to drop $500 to attend a convention and then listen a lineup of Republican speakers. This is an attempt to make some money and for a few Republicans to co-opt the tea party name.

I don't think most people fall with in the 2 categories, but why does everyone think that universal suffrage is an absolute good?

Where does this come from?
Haven't we read enough history to understand that democracy is nothing more than a dictatorship of the majority.

I remember watching rachael maddow saying that the tea baggers had been hijacked by some money people. Fox gave it tons of free publicity and I think they have their fingers in the pie too. She did a number of shows about them but that was when they first appeared on the scene with the dude with an assault rifle and all that looney tune stuff.

Oh, you mean when dearest Rachel used a carefully edited clip of a man carrying his rifle to a meeting to link racism with anti-Obama people.

Then the reality was shown that the man carrying the weapons was blacker than your Messiah. You think maybe he was racist against half-breeds, or just that beloved Rachel is a really crappy and amateurish propagandist no one should watch?

No, they don't have a problem with that.

If non-whites want to believe the fantasy that being supported by money stolen from others is their ticket to freedom and prosperity, one can't blame the Republicans by rejecting that message and the people who heed it.

Do you complain that Alcoholics Anonymous meetings don't serve drinks? Then why complain that Republicans don't cater to parasites?
