TSA nominee withdraws amid 'political agenda'

You're ok with a person who conducted an illegal investigation, then lied to Congress about it, running the TSA? Hypocrisy definitely noted.

I hate to burst the bubbles of all y'all, but every cop I've ever worked with has done this at least once, whether it was for a friend, or the record of a boy who wants to date his/her daughter, or even a neighbor who seems "questionable." Cops do this kind of thing all the time. Running someone's record is inappropriate (albeit, in my book, semi-understandable). The inexcusable part was lying to congress about it.

However, it takes two parties to play politics. I hope y'all remember that what goes around comes around.

Agreed, they do this short of thing all the time FOR family members. The thing, I hate is that he lied to congress about doing it in the first place.

THAT is the issue, not that he was sanctioned for inappropriate conduct 20 years ago. He should have just brazened it out.

Yeap, I tend to agree with this. He should have just told the truth, and he would still have the job.

Good... It's about time he got the message.

Wow! Maybe there really are some limits to what even Democrats can get away with. I was beginning to wonder...

As the Democrat party becomes more and more Progressive, it becomes too extreme for America. Progressives push for far too much, and subsequently the great middle is unwilling to accept.

Souther's unethical past is one thing. But I am glad Demint understood his labor philosophy would be unacceptable for the TSA.

He ran a background check on his ex-wife's b/f, without a warrant, or probable cause.

You ain't down with that, are you?

Hey apdst, could you maybe give us a list of the things that are "small and blown out of proportion" and which things are actually big violations for you.

Cause it seems in some cases, like running a background check, you get all up in arms demanding action taken however it seems in others you immedietely dismiss it, excuse it, and never once actually state action should be taken against the FBI for violating the law.

Gee, I wonder what the Difference could be.

Heh, my girlfriends uncle did this very thing to me and apparently all the boyfriends of her and her sisters over the years.

How about you throw a few scenarios and I'll let you know what I think of each one. Wanna try that?

How about holding prisoners without access to an attorney, torturing, and killing them in "Camp No"?

The Guantánamo ?Suicides?: A Camp Delta sergeant blows the whistle?By Scott Horton (Harper's Magazine)

Got any problems with the human rights violations in that?

They're illegal combatants. They don't rate protection under international law.

Besides, they get treated better than American inmates and most the the torture killing stories have proven to be bull****. Hell, the prisoners are living in building, while our troops live in tents.

Here's the real story of the horrors of Gitmo
