1 137 cars burned in France: News24: World: News
Almost a new record, but just a few cars short.

Almost a new record, but just a few cars short.
Vandals burned 1 137 cars in France on New Year's Eve and police arrested hundreds of people, the government said on Friday.
A statement from Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux put the official toll for car-burnings - a traditional act of New Year mischief in France - almost as high as last year when 1 147 torched cars were counted.
Hortefeux said police detained 481 people across the country - more than double the toll a year ago. At least 11 police officers were injured.
