And she could very well be continuing such concentration. It is hard to imagine staunch Progressives revising their policies just because a couple of muslim "loose cannons" leave a mark.

Oh yes there was good logical reason for apdst to single out leftists. Typically Republicans, and the Bush administration in particular, are reactive with their "big gov't" policies. No Child Left Behind was a reaction to the constant national montra of an education crisis. Homeland Security was a reaction to 9/11. TARP was a reaction to the banking collapse.

Republicans are prone to leaving everything to the private sector until they feel their political health is at risk. But Liberals, Progressives and Leftists are proactive in their drive toward centralized Federal influence. They go so far as to manufacture ghost crisis to justify their vast array of prescribed Federal proposals.

This falls under the Lesser of Two Evils banner except for those who see no "evil" in gross centralized government.

Can anybody show me what a definitive portrait of a Muslim looks like? Just so I can identify every Muslim I see? Or at least one which matches the description of say 70% of Muslims? I'll wait.

and incidents of domestic terror seem steeply to be on the rise

Now, look a little deeper.

As I said, the Republicans were reactive. And they were reacting to two enormous issues in 9/11 and economic collapse. Issues which on the whole created mass national support. Support that has seldom been given to the grand schemes of the Democrats. The nation's voters typicaly see through the Left's manufactured crisis. As a result the Democrat's federal successes more often come through targetted low key issues. A type of 'nickle-n-diming' us.

But let's just see how those graphs look after Obama & Co "serves" us, armed with the same collapse and the behemoth called Obamacare.

If you are discussing Islam with a Conservative, the odds are he is not speaking of muslims in general terms. He is more likely speaking of the muslims who a commanding the attention of the world. That would be Islamic Jihadists and terrorists who, though a fraction of the muslim world population, are the "voice of Islam" worldwide that needs to be attended to.

The majority peaceful muslims of the world are inconsequential and of as little influence as the Methodist or Mormon church.

Since you believe that profiling would be a failure, how would you go about detecting terrorists? Other than just getting lucky, I mean.

How do you go about profiling something when you don't know what that something looks like? Example. 10 black guys can be profiled if you're looking for a black guy. How do you profile 'a Muslim'? What racial traits do you look for? A turban? A beard? Your passports don't state your religion. Do you profile entire 'Muslim countries'? Okay then how does the system work with planes coming in full of people from a Muslim country? Yeah. No. Profiling Muslims? Pretty f'n stupid.

People who go through metal detectors aren't always searched or even the majority of times.
 
I strongly support profiling in all of it's forms.
