The ruling stems from two lawsuits filed because of the four-day convention at Madison Square Garden, where President George W. Bush accepted his party's nomination for a second term. The New York Civil Liberties Union lawsuits challenged the arrests of 1,800 protesters and the long waits they faced before seeing judges.

So much for freedom of speech, assembly, and redress huh? I hate how things like conventions are handled. With "free speech" zones and stupid **** like that. Didn't before the DNC convention happened, a bunch of people get pre-arrested? It's pretty sick, sicker that people defend the actions. We're slowly going to turn into Britain at this rate.

Lots. Terrorists lists, phone surveillance lists, no fly lists, sex offender lists, trouble maker lists, etc. If there's one thing government loves, it's databasing every last one of us. Makes it easier to keep tabs on us.
