Illinois prison to get Gitmo detainees

These guys should've been put on trial during the Bush years. Obama needs to either charge these guys or release them.

Keep in mind that the harsh treatment dealt to Germany by the allies following WWI was a key factor in the rise of Nazi Germany. Helping Germany to rebuild her economy instead of vindictive retribution would've stopped Nazism from ever gaining power.

WW2 came about because of a lack of intervention. The Germans weren't treated harshly after WW1. They were robbed of their wealth and allowed to waller in their own financial breakdown. Had the allies taken an active interest in building a strong stable government in Germany, Hitler would have never come power. PBO has already said he's going to repeat the mistakes of the post WW1 error.

No, because they're illegal combatants, therefore do not rate protections under any international law, custom or convention relating to the treatment of prisoners of war.

To be honest I had never heard of this. I knew about the sub Germans that were captured on American soil, and tried under a Military commission. But not that we kept POW's here.

it doesn't change how I feel what Obama is doing is wrong, but it was educational. thanks.
