In a massive security breach, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inadvertently posted online its airport screening procedures manual, including some of the most closely guarded secrets regarding special rules for diplomats and CIA and law enforcement officers.

The most sensitive parts of the 93-page Standard Operating Procedures manual were apparently redacted in a way that computer savvy individuals easily overcame.

The document shows sample CIA, Congressional and law enforcement credentials which experts say would make it easy for terrorists to duplicate.

The improperly redacted areas indicate that only 20 percent of checked bags are to be hand searched for explosives and reveal in detail the limitations of x-ray screening machines.

Time and time again our security is horrendous. It's some emotionalism facade to try and make people feel safer, because they had their world shattered by the hyperbole that came from the Bush Administration (and seems to be coming from the Obama's as well). These administration's precautionary terrorism (trying to create fear by saying, "we need to tap everybody's phone because there's a good chance some people in this world are bad, and our sources say that something horrible will happen very soon".)

We are secure only because the majority of bad people are either too complacent, or too damn stupid to actually live up to Big Brother's hype. If this were amateur night at the Apollo, then Big Brother would be boo'ed off already for their incessant lying and misdirection in the name of securing our population, only because they're officials are they given any credit.

Security starts with securing your home. It's a bottom up flow-chart, not this top-down like the administrations have been claiming.

Just look at who dumb ass Obama put in charge of our security. Janet Napolitano was a crappy Governor and is an idiot would was opposed to controlling our borders in any appreciable manner.

Unfortunately if you try institute standards to any position these days you are accused of applying a litmus test which should be a must, or your being homophobes of racists which is a way to cover for appointments of unqualified people who should go back to the jobs they are actually suited to. All those jobs require is a smile and being able to ask; Would like fries with that?

Now just think if this had happened under Bush!!! This thread would be 100 pages by now. But since it's Obama, four posts. The hypocracy stinks to high heaven. All our libertarian can say so far is, "**** the TSA". If it was Bush, we have monkey cartoons, words about incompentence, some mention of Cheney, or Youtube video.

This is definitely bad, but can you prove that this would NOT have happened under another person? Do you have proof that the policies implemented by Napolitano were the cause of this error?

Security through obscurity is such a good idea. Personally, I feel all this airport security crap does nothing to enhance our security. It makes people feel warm and fuzzy.
