Attacked Asian Students Afraid To Go to School | NBC Philadelphia
Dozens of Asian students who were attacked and beaten at South Philadelphia High School last week have opted not to return to school on Monday over concerns for their safety...
...Tensions between black and Asian students at the school erupted in a series of assaults last week, leading to 10 suspensions and several students seeking medical treatment...
...School officials said last week's clashes strained efforts to improve race relations...
This story is some heinous bull**** on several levels, but before I discuss the actual issue, I want to discuss the media treatment of it.
First: "Tensions between black and Asian students"
There are no tensions "between" black and Asians. This is blacks blatantly targeting and attacking Asians, for no reason. This isn't peace keeping between two ethnic groups with legitimate grievances against each other- this is one group, the blacks, actively targeting the other group, the Asians, without provocation. There is no exchange. It's entirely one sided.
Second: "efforts to improve race relations"
Again suggesting that their needs to be some sort of "opened dialogue" between the two groups. No, blacks need to stop attacking Asians. What are the Asians supposed to do, start being less Asian? Because being Asian is their only provocation.
This story makes me furious. I spent most of my life as a white minority in black-majority schools and it was pretty ****ty, but I understand the historical consequences of whites treatments of blacks.
But I cannot even express how disgusted I am that American blacks, who have had state aid lavished upon them for decades, are treating Asian immigrants -people who have struggled without support to make a life in this country- so wretchedly.
What's even more infuriating is the school systems treatment of the issue. It took them an entire week to respond, and their response was a committee meeting. And notice that the perpetrators (the ten at least that they bothered to catch) were not charged with assault, weren't even expelled, they were just given suspensions. Meaning that they'll be back within a month, in the same school. Could it be because the entire school system is run by blacks?
I have experienced my entire life the predatory behavior of blacks against all other races in the schools of this city- and I don't think the issue is just in the city, I think it's equally true in other black-majority cities. My high school was about 30 percent white, which was enough to protect each other, but it was still a struggle. This was not racist white banding together to oppress blacks- it was white people from all over the city trying to merely protect ourselves from unrestrained black violence. I don't personally believe in reinstating systematic racism and I believe that the problems of the black community aren't necessarily inherent to black genetics (although they are inherent to black culture) but I do strongly understand how other whites (and other non-blacks) I grew up with came to those conclusions. And this article illustrates why. If blacks want to make some racist Asian skinhead gangs, this is a great way to do it. And who will be at fault?
