Copenhagen climate summit: 1,200 limos, 140 private planes and caviar wedges

goran.jpg

This picture had me in stitches. Goremons... :rofl:rofl

Yes, they should've ridden in on donkeys.

Have you ever tried to mount a Jackass on a Donkey? It's tough.

Some 40,000 tons of carbon will be spewed getting this crowd together and keeping them in comfort. That is the daily amount of carbon dioxide produced by 30 of the world's smaller countries, according to UN statistics.

They're going to have a wonderful time - seeing the sights in Denmark - all patting obama on the shoulder for winning the peace prize.

Have they ever heard of teleconferencing - no , that would be too easy and take all the fun out of it.:2no4:

Copenhagen climate summit in disarray after 'Danish text' leak | Environment | guardian.co.uk

1. copenhagen collapses once more

2. this time, tho, it's from the opposite corner

3. the "danish text," leaked like an east anglian email, calls for the world's richest nations to be empowered, the poorest to be punished, and the UN to be universally uninvolved

4. who's responsible for this thorough ripoff of the third world?

5. according to The Guardian, it's the "circle of commitment," some escoterically secretive society "understood to include the UK, US and denmark"

6. that dirty "danish text," evidently, "forces developing countries to agree to emission cuts that were not part of the original agreement"

7. it also limites nascent nations to 1.44 carbon tons per person per year, while richer regions like ours are rationed 2.67 per

8. furthermore, just like a harry reid health care bill, the copenhagen accords are being crafted in complete secret

9. "clearly the intention is to get obama and the leaders of other rich countries to muscle it through," opined an anonymous diplomat

10. "it is effectively the end of the UN process," concluded the crestfallen, excluded non-contributor

11. obama syndrome is spreading worldwide, the international left is catching his complete incompetence

12. he's contagious

To be fair, the Copenhagen folks realise this problem and are making attempts to mitigate it.

*Delegates are encouraged to use mass transit around the city as much as they can, furthermore rentable bicycles are on hand for the delegates' exclusive use.

*200 climate-friendly (biofuel powered) limos are available if buses or bikes are not suitable.

*Furthermore, the organisers have struck a deal with Bangladesh to help offset emissions from the event by providing funding for some more environmentally-friendly industrial facility (can't quite recall which) in that country.

Let's not forget that there are something like 20,000 delegates. With the logistics of getting them all there and back, it was inevitable that emissions would be high. What makes Copenhagen different from the average summit is that attempts are being made to compensate, and we should at least be thankful for that.

EDIT: There's a reason why videoconferencing isn't used at major events like this. Simply put, interpersonal negotiations are far superior when conducted person-to-person whilst also eliminating any possibility of setbacks from connection dropouts etc. that could occur during a videoconference. One other thing: I wonder what the CO2 emissions of all that videoconferencing equipment would be?

Ya gotta be kidding.....:doh

What's the problem?
Well he did place in bold the comments he was speaking of, he was hardly coming across like Col. Cathcart. Unless of course you were being serious about the Co2 output of telecommunications equipment..................

Global warming is a real phenomenon like it or not. I'm sure some people exaggerate it for political reasons, but having sour grapes over it isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

Yeah, but AGW is not a given.

Global warming is a real phenomenon like it or not.

I would like it cause i am freezing my cajones off over here.

Its just another hairbrained money making scheme and its working. Much like any religion.

:eek:t And the trolling just conveniently slides in there.

How many tons of carbon are emitted to provide power for puerile internet conversations, if a Google search costs 0.2g to 0.7g per time?

Versus how many tons of carbon emitted to provide power and transportation to and for a truly puerile show of "diplomacy" and all the accouterments (limos, jet aircraft and of course free boats and hos) associated with this SNAFU in Copenhagen? So sorry if that did not fit so well with your calculations. Chuckle. Oh yeah, "they" care, they really do. Even those "leaders" of this cause de jour who for reasons (CRU FOIA request compilation?) unknown suddenly bailed on their pet project? Ah integrity!:notlook:

obama is so inept...

(how inept is he?!)...

he's on the wrong side POLITICALLY...

of the WEATHER!

LOL!

now, THAT's pretty hard to accomplish

i mean, the WEATHER

almost EVERYONE's on the RIGHT SIDE of the WEATHER

that's EASY

i mean, almost everyone agrees...

it's FREEZING OUT THERE!

LOL!

Global warming is a real phenomenon like it or not.
It's called "climate change" and yes, it's a real phenomenon.

Has been for about 4.5 billion years now.

NWO folks love this stuff. However, I think that politicians love this even more. They get to look like the big heroes for "saving the planet" and making us responsible, all the while they do this with tax increases, so they consolidate government power and say look at all the great things they've done even while being stewards of the environment. This has NOTHING to do with concern for the environment, it has EVERYTHING to do with consolidation of power and sucking more money away from average taxpayers.

Of course politicians love this stuff... imagine all the money that will come their way from allowing international banks to tax the world... people seem to forget that what's proposed in Copenhagen as a tax is a CUMULATIVE aka EVER INCREASING tax on CO2 (the average persons respiration is just short of 1 tonne per year (5lbs/da)).

 you doubt they're sincerity?

No, I don't doubt that those politicians and the likes of Al Gore are very sincere in their attempts to become excessively wealthy taxing life.

Global warming is a real phenomenon like it or not.
Yes, it got's hot in the summer, cold in the winter... that's real. Each year is either hoter or colder then the last... or roughly the same.

I'm sure some people exaggerate it for political reasons, but having sour grapes over it isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

The scam is in the exaggerations and forcing people to pay taxes to 'remedy' their bzd feelings.

:eek:t And the trolling just conveniently slides in there.

You know they are having a global warming conference in the snow ...right??

You cant make this stuff up.

Why don't we all pledge not to have a larger carbon foot print than Algore.... there, we fixed global warming.... or was it global cooling... oh right, it's climate change.

i'm old enough to remember "global cooling"

we were all gonna starve

back in the 70's we needed to MELT the ice caps

LOL!

Newsweek on the cooling world

meanwhile, on earth...

well, in copenhagen, actually, accords are in complete collapse, while jackboots crack heads in the streets

Climate talks deadlocked as clashes erupt outside - Yahoo! News

it's all so academic

ie, meaningless

even were the orators of heated exhaust to agree on something, it could never amount to more than a mere exercise of empty symbolism

the kumbaya crowd, by the way, isn't even trying to agree on any kind of resolution, they surrendered that last month

instead, they're simply "establishing a FRAMEWORK for negotiating more formal agreements next year"

LOL!

and they can't even get THAT done

even tho HILLARY's there

bottom line, china and india say NO

especially, hard headed hu who always bitch slaps so sharply our shirley temple in public

so now the brit's "climate secty," mr miliband, calls copenhagen "a farce"

Copenhagen summit veering towards farce, warns Ed Miliband | Environment | The Guardian

enter obama, to pronounce his pretty poem

(greater, more gripping, even than gore's)

he appears completely unaware of what's going on around him

oblivious obama

he looks ridiculous

fulfilling his own little frozen fantasy

while americans are without work, without homes...

You know they are having a global warming conference in the snow ...right??

You cant make this stuff up.

Isn't that NORMAL for Denmark for this time of year? Besides, it is quite likely that part of Europe will get COLDER, not warmer, with Climate Change -- at least early on due to disruptions in the North Atlantic Drift which keeps northern Europe warmer than other areas of a similar latitude.
