4 Police Officers Shot Dead Near Washington State Air Force Base.

SEATTLE — Four police officers were shot dead in an ambush at a Washington state coffee house, a sheriff's official said Sunday.

The attack occurred east of McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Wash., about 35 miles south of Tacoma.

Authorities said two suspects entered Forza Coffee Co. and opened fire on the four police officers who were sitting inside, Fox affiliate q13fox.com reported.

Police are now searching for the two suspects, one white male and one black male, q13Fox.com reported. The black male is believed to be between 5'7" and 5'10" tall, wearing a black coat and blue jeans. There are no details on the physical description of the other male suspect.

The officers were going over paper work and drinking coffee before starting their shift when they were killed, q13fox.com reported.

"It was just a flat out ambush," Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer told The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash.

Investigators believe the officers were targeted, and it was not a robbery, Troyer said.

There were other customers in the coffee shop but only the four officers were hit, according to q13Fox.com.

"The four of them are known by everybody here," Troyer said. "We haven't got any information as to why this happened."

This is horrible. God bless the families of those officers. I hope they find the suspects quickly and get them off the streets.
 
It will be interesting to see what eye witnesses have to say. I will find it hard to believe these to perpetrators didn't say anything before or during the murders, and if they did I am extremely interested in the language they might used.
There must be some massive hate involved to cause a nut to kill a cop, let alone two nuts killing four of them.
I am not going to speculate on a motive other than to say two guys having deep seated hate like this is suspicious at the very least.
 
The fact that it was near an Air Force base is irrelevant....
Ft. Lewis is a huge Army base right next to McChord...
Lakewood is full of illegal immigrants & other jetsam & flotsam of "society"....
My guess is that they were targeted over a drug issue....
Such is the sad state of affairs in Libtardia.....;)

The first point may or may not be true. That is your speculation. We won't know until more actual facts that are relevant to the case come out.

The second point is a fact.

The third point is just your stated opinion about the population, not a fact.

the legality and stealth of handguns make such crime more possible
the story did not state that handguns were used, but i am guessing the assassins did not arrive at a public place with long guns to do their dirty work
 
This is horrabile, but I wonder why they put a millarty :spin: on it. When it didn't happen in the base :confused:. My hope and prayers goes out to the family of the fallen officers. This is a great way to shorten your life by going after police officers. I hope that its not some nut job who thinks the police were their to take their guns away. I too think that it sounds like a hit from gang bangers myself... I beleive that these officers were good at their jobs, and were good targets for gangbangers, because it sounds like a hit to me at least.

Possibly because the air force base is the most notable land mark in the area.

I feel for these officers and any law enforcement personnel who are killed in the line of duty.

But if you want a good argument for gun control - look at the death rates of law enforcement officers between America and Britain
 
Usually in cases like this there is a personal connection..... My prayers to the officers and thier families....

Carbine styled assault rifles and shotguns are just as concealable under a heavy coat, especially this time of year in Washington state.

more likely, they were crooked cops with connections to drug cartels or some sort of organized crime group. So that group took the dirty cops out. A GOOD thing for us all.

You see the problem about the "legality and stealth of handguns" part. It wouldn't have been possible if the people(civilians....or is the right word slave?) had the same ability as cops to carry concealed guns on them. That way the bad people wouldn't have gotten away or have had the possibility to carry out such a crime.

So are nearby cities. Most people in this country have no clue where McChord AFB is; but chances are, they've heard of Tacoma and definitely Seattle.

Of course local residents will know immediately where Parkland is, since that's where the shootings took place. So I fail to see the point of using McChord as a reference.

Okay - I'll tell you the same way I told Coon County. Wait until all the damn facts are out. People killing cops for ****ty reasons or for absolutely no reason is not something that is even remotely new in America.

Parkland is a suburb of Tacoma, located in unincorporated Pierce County. Jurisdiction for this crime belongs to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

The address of the coffee shop where they were killed is a Tacoma address:

My guess is that it's the medias way of playing up the headline, not that it needs it. In light of the recent tragedy at Ft. Hood I think anything violent and newsworthy that happens near a military post will draw some mention of the post in the headline.
