AP source: Palin book sells big in first week

It may be tougher after Bush, but I think Reagan could do it. But basically you're saying the only reason Obama won was because he had the great fortune to run after Bush.

Yes indeed, that is what propelled Obama, that, and the fact that he was black, and this was historic. I think we are all now beginning to understand how irresponsible this can be, electing people based on issues like race, charisma, cult followings, etc. We need successful business men and woman, people who have been proven leaders, not just hope and change.

partly, yes i am. who could deny that?

John Kerry.

...ran when Bush's approval ratings hovered around 50%.

Obama ran when Bush's approval ratings hovered around 25%.

Obama won because he ran after Bush.

John Kerry ran at a time of "anyone but Bush", but was so terrible that he couldn't actually beat him. Anyone with a pulse could have beaten Bush in that election...too bad the democrats hadn't found one. When Bush was out, there was still a very harsh (and perhaps deserved) anti-Republican sentiment. It did make Obama's job easier for sure, but as seen in the previous election just because you're not Bush doesn't mean you'll win. Not only did Obama get a bump from running after Bush, but the Republicans put up McCain who couldn't win. He was associated too much with Bush.

Of course, I told everyone before the election that Obama was nothing special and would behave just as poorly as any other politician. But the people lining up on their knees for Obama wouldn't hear it. We're just setting up a horrible cycle.

That's a helluva start for a woman that is claimed to be "irrelevant" and a "Train wreck" by those on the left.
Dude, even Miley Cyrus' albums sell big - way bigger than Palin's book. All this means is that Palin still has a long way to go if she wants to be as popular as an annoying 17-year old no-talent pop singer. Once again, big whup. :doh

It's not just the "Liberal media". There are plenty of Conservatives who can't stand the woman. What is your point?

Are they following her around and bashing her and being critical of her every day. The left is obsessed with Palin

Had nothing to do with the liberal media?

Obama won because he ran after Bush.

So with Obama's approval tanking we can expect Obama will lose in 2012?

Nah, I don't think they are critical of her every day. I think that the people who dislike her like to give her **** whenever they can. I also don't think it's just the left who are obsessed with her. I think that her supporters are just as obsessed with her, but for different reasons. The woman is a polarizing figure and she makes headlines regularly. Then again, so does Paris Hilton.
