What Liberal ever said Palin is a nobody? Oh yeah, no one. Also, she is a joke, which is why Oprah got such high ratings, and she has a decent backing.

It's pointless to argue with someone who overuses regurgitated talking points. I think many on the right know that few on the left are actually scared of Palin, especially at this point. Perhaps during the campaign with McCain that was the case, but certainly not now.

I was worried about her when McCain first announced her as a running mate. Then she opened her mouth. I think it was the interview where she got asked how being governor of Alaska gave her foreign policy experience, and then tried to bail her out, and she still looked and sounded lost. She is a female version of Joe Biden(which makes sense in a way), but even more clumsy verbally...but every bit as much a dim bulb.
 
everywhere ms palin goes, thousands turn out as much as 24 hours in advance, often in freezing weather

it happened again in roanoke yesterday

obama would struggle to generate that kinda enthusiasm today

and he's president

like it or not, she's a phenom

and the entire tone of the media in covering her has radically changed

for 2 days they were giggling and teabagging and really quite gross

then grand rapids happened---i saw it live at 6am on msnbc---and suddenly serious and somber became coffee joe's fun-poking panel

the folks around here at dp don't fear her, it's true

but the elites sure do

they go way out of their way to report on anything they got on her, often stretching wildly far

now they're kinda scared to touch her

she knocked every interview out of the park

she's obviously matured a great deal

her supporters, basically, are as intimidating as the town halls

they're pretty much the same people

the way she's handled this tour, for instance, can objectively be described as nothing less than virtuoso

Here's a new drinking game for you, prof -- every time one of her supporters draws a BLANK STARE when asked about specific policies... take a drink.

It's a lot fun -- but difficult to keep up. So many blank stares and clueless looks...

Or the McCain rallies. Or the UCLA kids who liked Kennedy and nationalized healthcare with that other dumbass comedian with a microphone thinking he could figure out a way to make liberals look bad. Or if you pick up a Hofstadter book, he liked to rant about populists and rural Americans and their ignorance.

Selective vision is awesome.

I have never met a palin or beck fan who could articulate specific issues... they are all very good regurgitating talking points however... (like a few folks on this site)

She speaks in these long run on sentences that consist of phrases and gerneral notions but never any real ideas...

Excuse me, but plenty of Obama fans seem to consider him akin to a rock star, and like to talk mindlessly about 'change' and other vague concepts canned by his political machine.

That's people in general.

If you want an on-site example, I recall I was one of the few who pointed out to people that congressional staffers do a lot of work and that our representatives don't have a magic wand that allows them to read every page that crosses their desk.

Well yeah, when you take everything into account, your side of an argument will rarely be 100% correct or not look stupid.

Tunnel vision is the only way to make politics work properly :lol:

Try watching her interview with Hannity or O'Reilly, and she presents ideas.

They are. However, I don't think it is necessarily the same fear you are thinking of. They are fearful of her wrong approach to politics, not necessarily fearful of her correct approach to politics. That is why left wingers can be disengenous with their feelings towards Palin. To put it bluntly, for many, it is like how many on the right fear Obama. Not because his policies work or are somehow politically successful, but because they represent that which is wrong for their perceptions. Then again, you have folks like Disneydude whom, I suspect is a lot like Joey Gladstone from the show Full House, who somehow love to watch someone gain a prominent seat of power in a political party just to watch them fall...so I guess the world is full of wild and wacky people.

Also, don't you mean, our friends on the left?
