Sarah Palin gives Oprah biggest audience in two years

it brings out the moronic in her supporters. she is a ****ing idiot.

Palin believes the patient should be responsible for his medical bills, not strangers.

Must be the Messiah's the idiot.

Palin believes the US should exploit it's own vast energy resources, not import oil from terrorist and totalitarian nations.

Must be the Messiah's the idiot.

Palin wouldn't bow to the king of Saudi Arabia or the Emperor of Japan.

Must be the Messiah's the idiot.

And the people that support the Messiah and his policies, of course.

Well, in Alaska she was still relatively unknown. If you are running for a high office you had better prepare for some serious criticism and scrutiny.

I would agree if the scrutiny and criticism were legitimate. But the vitriol began out of the gate. One of the first nasty little stories started was about how Trigg was really Bristol's baby. And it only sunk lower from there.

I don't think she was at all prepared for that.

I don't think many of us were prepared for the maniacal venom that was thrown at that woman.

It's also not just liberals who have been attacking her. Plenty of people on the right have been doing so as well. Many accused her as being part of the reason why the GOP was so split apart during the last Presidential campaign.

Well it was. And they can blame all they want. Looking at the campaign, there was an obvious flaw in running her with McCain and that flaw was miscalculated as a strength by the campaign. McCain and Palin were both maverick politicians with different ideologies. They could not present a unified and coherent message because they were divided.

And that's ok, too. That's water under the bridge now.

It rarely is legitimate, though. The average person doesn't care about policy issues. They like to see sensationalism and drama and the news networks like to keep their ratings up. Unfortunately, I don't see how this method will change. In fact, it will probably only get worse.

I didn't think they would go as hard as they did against her, but it really didn't surprise me. Not much surprises me about the media nowadays.

Agreed. It may come back to haunt her. The lows that the media have sunk to in their attacks of her will most definitely come back to haunt her as well. They've created a huge well for her opponents to take from for attack material.

Palin believes the patient should be responsible for his medical bills, not strangers.

Which fails to address the growing deficit in hospitals as a result of patients not paying their bills, which in turn raises treatment costs for everyone.

Palin believes the US should exploit it's own vast energy resources, not import oil from terrorist and totalitarian nations.

The U.S. gets 90% of its oil from Canada. This is a moot point.

Palin wouldn't bow to the king of Saudi Arabia or the Emperor of Japan.

Must be the Messiah's the idiot.

This has nothing to do with anything pertinent.

And the people that support the Messiah and his policies, of course.

I support some of Obama's policies. I'm not sure what Messiah you are talking about.

I think her best bet is to wait through to 2016, continue doing speaking tours, solidify a base for herself, and hope to god Tina Fey out ages her or gets hit by a bus.

Palin was the best thing to ever happen for Tina Fey's career. You could tell she thrived on playing her. I don't blame her either. Who wouldn't love a nice little career boost like that? One thing in Palin's favor is the fact that she was cool enough to play along with all of it.

I don't think Tina Fey had a mean bone in her body when she was playing Palin. She was really just having fun and not being vicious.

It's what the media did with Fey's performance, spinning it as more accurate than parody, that was vicious and turned the whole thing into something nasty.

I still don't see the point you are getting at.
So what there were people more brilliant than the surgeon in the bottom 2% of his class.

A. This doesn't necessarily mean he is "dumb" and doesn't know what he is doing.

B. If he graduated and passed all his residency it shows that he has the knowledge required to do the job, if he has been doing the job for quite some time with no problems, then I don't see what the issue is.

Where you were ranked among your peers in college doesn't mean you are suddenly an idiot.

I'd be damn proud to be 88th of 88 students graduating from Harvard Law School.

Do you also look for restaurants that got a D rating from the health department to eat at??

I'm not the one having it both ways ;)

edit: Actually, I suspect you are trying to have it three ways:
Joe Biden's law school rank is HORRIBLE!
John McCain's is irrelevent!
And Barack Obama's academic successes were b/c of affirmative action!

mirite?

So, are you aware of McCain's 'academic achievement' and did you vote for him?

Yes, I was well aware of McCain's school ranking. I was unhappy with that just as I was about many of McCain's past and present ventures. And yes, I held my nose and voted for him because he was a thousand times better than the alternative, as we have been unfortunately seen for the past 10 months.

Palin scares the left big time.......She will be a factor in 2012 if she wants to be.....She would be a shoo in for the senate from Alaska.........

Do you guys think if you repeat this often enough, it might sometime magically become true? Trust me on this, she scares few if any on the left, we find he amusing and an easy target.

Looks like that insignificant nobody that the left insists is a joke, scored Oprah some pretty big numbers in the viewer category.
.
Well duh. Sarah Palin is pure comedic genius - whether you're a Palin fanboi, a left winger, a libertarian, an independent, etc her level of sheer stupidity has something to offer everyone. :rofl

As for myself, I enjoy watching her because she reminds me that our political system has sunk so low that Paris Hilton-wanabes like Sarah "Former Death Panel Supporter" Palin can actually be considered as candidates for POTUS.

BTW, the Super Bowl still gets 100X the viewership that Palin will ever get even if she does manage to become POTUS (Gawd forbid). :doh

No one outside of Alaska even knew who this hick chick was until McCain picked her for VP - but hey she has tits, so I guess that's reason enough for male koolaid drinkers everywhere to slobber over her.

Is that true, Orius? Seems incredibly high. I don't think we get 90% of our oil from Canada

They are merely regurgitating tired talking points. They hear Hannity or Limbaugh say it enough times and they start to repeat it. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

If Palin didn't have tits, no one on the right would care about her. I guarantee it. She's just a David Koresch with tits to the far right wing flying monkeys, and if they don't lay off the koolaid and nominate a legitimate candidate like Ron Paul (who I might very well vote for if he became the Republican nominee), then they will just guarantee that Obama will be reelected in 2012.

No, we get a lot, but not that much of our oil from Canada. I believe it's around 20%.

:rofl:rofl I seriously cannot believe you said this nonsense.

That's a rather misogynistic take. Palin seems genuine and is quite smart. She certainly isn't as stupid as many on the left are saying. She was kind of a fish out of water during the campaign because she wasn't prepared for the vitriol that would be slung her way by the mass media. She wasn't prepared for that world, and a person has to be if they are going to run for a high office.

Personally, I found the whole "If Palin didn't have tits, no one on the right would care about her." comment to be far more absurd and distasteful.

On that note, one probably needs to understand Alaskan politics to understand why Palin was taken by surprise. Politicians in Alaska tend to take the stance that you may not like what they tell you but they would rather just tell the constituency and get it out of the way than have to deal with double talk later on.

They also tend to separate their personal convictions from their governing platforms.

That's not how washington works, however.:rofl

I honestly don't know who in their right mind would ever want to be a politician with the smear tactics that are engaged nowadays. It's completely disgusting.

Sorry, but I fail to see how someone who supported death panels as gov of Alaska, but now claims to be against them (when the dems are in office) for "moral" reasons is all that "legitimate".

Like I said, if Ron Paul was the Repub nominee, I might vote for him over Obama. But I'd vote for Larry the Cable guy over Sarah Palin if she was the Repub nominee. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels the same way, so the GOP will be losing at least one vote (and probably many more) just for nominating this fraud. For the dems' sake, let's hope they do pick Palin.

Truth hurts. ;) If she was a guy, she'd just be another boring white male politician. For that matter, if Obama was white, I don't think the Obamahype would have been half what it is (he certainly wouldn't have won 90% of the black vote).

Wait, what?

This statement right here just proves to me that you are completely out of your area of knowledge and don't have teh slightest clue what you are talking about.

Please explain to me how Palin supported death panels?

And I will throw you a bone: You better come up with something a lot more damning than the proclamation stating that everyone should be aware and plan for a dignified end of life process because that ain't gonna cut it.

Been there, done that.

The truth doesn't cut it then I guess. Her proclamation was the exact kind of "death panels" endorsement that Obama proposed. But apparently it's different to you when a red-stater endorses it. And apparently her flip-flopping just for political purposes while claiming it has anything to do with a "moral conviction" doesn't mean anything about her character to you either.

Have at it, stare at her tits, drink her koolaid, and elect another liberal progressive who's posing as a conservative just to patronize the right-wing for their votes. Or better yet, just vote Democrat and elect a liberal progressive who isn't a complete ignoramus if Palin is the best the GOP can muster up. :doh

No I'm seeing the crowds she's drawing. She has a huge fan base, there is no denying that. Regardless of what her justification was for quitting as governor it will be used as a line of attack and I predict it will be rather effective.

Well we will have to agree to disagree because if she was still governor she could not do the work she wanted to get other conservatives elected.........Read her book.......I did..............
