RNC Insurance plan covers abortion

You speak as though the two must be at odds. Not so.

Well, fiscal conservativeness seems to have disappeared a long time ago. Even Reagan was a spender!

A good reason not to trust the Republicans as well on health-care.

They don't even know what's in their own insurance. Actually I bet the fiscal cons set that up. They got a good deal and went with it with the full knowledge it covered abortion. Because social conservatism wasn't a big deal to them. Getting good coverage at good prices was important.

LOL.... like the Democrats read, and understood that 2000+ page travesty they voted for?

Did you perhaps forget the smiley or [/sarcasam]?

Still waiting for you to make the point.

That is the point. Fiscal conservatism should be practiced and not preached. I mean, can i call myself a conservative because i believe in a balanced budget unless we are in a steep recession while simultaneously being socially liberal?

Oh god, please run Palin. Please! I want to see if she'll lose like Mondale, or merely Dukkakkis.

Even if she lost, everyone on both sides would know where she stood on the issues, unlike Obama and his supporter's buyer's remorse :2wave:

I'd rather support a loosing Conservative then a winning Liberal any day.

Did any of you read the article or did you just run with Disneydudes commentary?

In 1991 the RNC Offered Healthcare plan happened to cover Abortion. They probably just bought a Blue Cross Blue Shield like Company plan and it might have gone unnoticed, it might not have. Either way it was a non-issue for 18 years.

Now that Government care looms, and one of the problems with it is Government Funded Abortions, naturally the RNC is against this.... and someone who knew Company insurance plans saw the RNC had X plan, and knew that plan covered elective abortion... and thus "HYPOCRISY!!!"

FFS people, get a clue. It's like watching a group of people debating the merits of a book based on it's cover. Use your heads.

Forget another party. Secession is looking tastier by the day. Just cut the bankrupt west coast and northeast away, and 90 percent of our problems are solved.

Have fun starving without California! And did you know that on average blue states get less federal money back than red states? We subsidize some red states if you figure out where the money goes. Also keep in mind that many important businesses and companies have bases in major cities. Major cities like New York, LA, and San Francisco. Hope you won't need them.

Have Fun:2wave:

Mondale, Dukakis and don't forget another loser, George McGovern were all flaming liberals.

Oh, I know. I've never denied that. I'm still amused by your inability to answer a question though.

Of this group, only Barry Goldwater was conservative. Are you happy now that I answered the question?

Why did Bob Dole not count as a conservative?

And why was Reagan, who raised taxes and didn't cut spending, a conservative?

President Reagan had to deal with a Democrat congress. Early on he cut taxes, which got us out of the recession like Obama should have done, but the Dem. congress later raised taxes and spend like drunken sailors.

So he's a Conservative because he cut taxes? Is that the only reason, seeing as he raised spending, ignored the debt, and raised taxes at other points?

Re: D'oh! RCN to Nix Covered Abortions from Insurance Policy

I concur.

It's just hypocritical to me that the pro-life party would accept having an abortion benefit in their insurance coverage for nearly two decades yet be so against it politically.

That was not his doing. It was the Democrat congress that did that. The House of Representatives writes all fiscal bills.

Ever hear of veto override?

Did they veto override him into raising taxes and not cutting spending? What about his swollen defense budget? What about his constitutionally questionable deals with Iran?

By the way, I no longer affiliate Republican. I am a Conservative.( Yes there is a Conservative Party in New York State)

What part of " fiscal policy is determined in the House of Representatives" don't you understand?
